Job Details
- Collects all discarded waste from Specimen Processing.
- Sorts through all discarded waste consisting of paper and biological material.
- Delivers any biological specimen to Lab Support Supervisor.
- Rebags and disposes all sorted waste appropriately.
- Adheres to all established laboratory safety requirements.
- Required to use (a) personal protective equipment, (b) engineering controls and/or work practice controls as directed by management.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by competent authority.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Physical activity: stooping; kneeling; crouching; reaching; pushing; pulling; lifting; fingering; grasping; feeling.
- Light work (exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to move objects); visual acuity; exposure to biological specimens, biohazard materials and chemicals.
Knowledge:
Proper specimen handling techniques.
Skills:
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required)
