Job Description


Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Hours: Monday-Friday 11pm-7am

Essential Functions: 

  • Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
  • Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday
  • Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment



Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities pertaining to laboratory testing and the reporting of results; performs moderately difficult to complex tasks; performs assigned analytical testing procedures in an accurate, precise, and timely manner.




Qualifications:

Required Knowledge: BS in Medical Technology; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical technology

Required Experience: 1-year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.

Special Requirements: 

  • Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously. 
  • Must interact with other departments.
  • Contact with clients may be required, good customer service skills are important.
  • Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. 
  • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. 
  • Frequent walking and/or standing. 
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
