Create and manage master data sets from raw sources to deploy Operational Metrics and develop customized analytical tools. Identify data trends and perform root cause analysis to make data driven decisions towards Operational Excellence and meeting service targets & commercial needs.


    • Serve as the owner and subject matter  for regional value stream data structures and sourcing.
    • Ensure data integrity for business decisions, senior management reviews, operational analysis, and day to day improvement.
    • Facilitate alignment around Operational Metric definitions, defects, and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with regional directors and corporate function management to achieve consensus on core measurement components.
    • Develop automated data solutions in partnership with corporate IT and National Lab Ops & Enterprise Automation teams.
    • Leverage developed solutions to create customized and accurate reporting, scorecards, and management tools for regional Operations teams.
    • Design and maintain data submission templates for master data sets.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and adopt mechanisms for managing critical data locally in a structured format.
    • Query and collate metrics from automated and non-standard data sources.
    • Collect data across standard and non-standard sites, adhering to agreed operational definitions.
    • Educating front line team members and leaders on operational interpretations and best practices on data dashboard or tool utilization. Leading the way in advocating for digital competency and capability.
    • Perform checks and audits of all data sources to ensure metrics are accurate and complete.
    • Support a culture of continuous improvement by supporting, facilitating, or leading rapid improvement events/kaizens by articulating drivers of gaps towards performance across the value stream.

    Examples of Operational Metrics:

    • Specimen Management Productivity (Throughput, Efficiency, Total Labor)
    • Reliability (Instrument Uptime, Instrument Defects, Instrument Cycles, Preventative Maintenance Compliance)
    • Market Volume Insights (Req Complexity, Weekly Volume Trends, Volume Characteristics)

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a role requiring analytics or reporting.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.

Knowledge:

  • Expertise in creating, managing, and analyzing large master data sets.
  • Working understanding and experience with relevant Order to Cash processes.
  • Systems knowledge: QLS, QBS, QDSS, Cognos, QPS, QMPS, IDAA.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Experience with data science tools and programming languages, including Python and packages such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and PySpark.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including Common Table Expressions (CTEs) and User Defined Functions (UDFs).
  • Understanding of data pipeline management, including underlying scripts, edge cases, scalability, future-proofing, and API configurations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Regular Expressions, Pivot Tables, Chart Designs, Dashboard Creation, VBA/Macros, and various lookup functions (XLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH).
  • Expertise in rational database query and creation (Access & SQL).
  • Direct experience influencing operational leaders.
  • Proven track record in analyzing data and drawing actionable conclusions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to hunt down data, transform it, and clearly express opportunities.
  • Strong presentation skills.

Software / Programming Requirements:

  • MS Excel: data mining, modeling, and tool origination/refinement.
  • MS Power Platform: Microsoft PowerBI, Power Apps, Power Automate
  • Minitab: statistical analysis of historical data.
  • Python: data extraction/building methods
  • MS Access: database queries and creation.
  • SharePoint / Tableau: distribution of metrics and data sets.
  • Bonus: MS Visio
