Hospital Lab Stewardship Manager -Remote- Secaucus, NJ- Remote - Monday - Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

The Manager, Stewardship Solutions, Health Systems, is responsible for growing the presence and success of enterprise stewardship solution programs in hospitals and health systems that utilize Quest’s professional lab management services, by developing governance committees, serving as an ongoing consultant and member of the committee(s), coordinating in data analysis, and maintaining a pipeline of projects. In partnership with the health systems team, this critical role will demonstrate Quest Diagnostics' commitment to ensuring patients receive the right test, at the right time, at the right point of care.

Pay Range: $125,000+ per year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Duties:

  • Serve as a liaison to Health Systems’ managed lab clients to operationalize stewardship solutions on a client-specific basis; solutions to include establishment of a lab stewardship program, including developing a Lab Stewardship committee with a charter, governance system, and regular cadence
  • Provide advisory services to facilitate customer process for identifying opportunities to reduce over-utilized lab testing and increase under-utilized lab testing by implementing effective, proven interventions consistent with accepted evidence-based medical guidelines
  • Provide client support to facilitate user adoption of enterprise stewardship solutions
  • Use business intelligence data and reporting tools to enhance customer experience of enterprise stewardship solution
  • Conduct an annual send-out testing optimization assessment to identify reference testing that could be performed by Quest
  • Identify and inform Professional Lab Services team of deeper partnership and professional services opportunities.  Facilitate engagement as appropriate
  • Partner with customer to identify gaps accessing, analyzing, and using test utilization data, and provide recommendations to internal leadership
  • Work with Health Systems’ managed lab clients identify opportunities to develop new and enhance existing stewardship capabilities
  • Provide activation, implementation, and validation support for new installations of the enterprise platform as needed
  • Provide demonstrations of enterprise product when requested
  • Assist with developing and delivering internal product training and user manuals as needed
  • Develop and foster relationships across customer base, professional organizations, user groups, and industry trade groups to stay current with trends in laboratory test utilization, reimbursement, Laboratory Information Systems and related technology, laboratory analytics, laboratory regulations and compliance, and other trends impacting laboratory services.
  • Support the efforts of marketing to create executive-level presentations (e.g., data analysis, graph generation etc.)
  • Develop and foster relationships across customer base, professional organizations, user groups, and industry trade groups to stay current with trends in laboratory test utilization, reimbursement, Laboratory Information Systems and related technology, laboratory analytics, laboratory
  • Travel up to 25% domestically supporting customer initiatives, select conferences and internal Quest meetings.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in health sciences or Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years hospital laboratory experience required, additional commercial laboratory experience a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, consulting and/or advisory services in the healthcare industry.
  • Significant knowledge of the clinical utility of laboratory tests and the ability to have in-depth conversations with clinicians
  • Broad understanding of the laboratory business and its services
  • In depth understanding of hospital operations
  • Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mapping, Minitab) and knowledgeable on EHRs and major hospital LIS operations
  • Six-Sigma and Program Management or equivalent training and certification preferred
