Forensic Toxicology Lab Processing Technician III - Lenexa, KS - Tuesday - Saturday 5:00am-1:30pm
Pay Range: $18.50+ per hour
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

This position reports to the Supervisor, Forensic Processing and is responsible for the routine daily sample processing of the Forensic Toxicology Processing Department. This individual is accountable for all specimen receipt, sorting, data entry and work within the forensic processing department.
Responsibilities:
- Processes all types of specimens independently
- Scans/images all custody and control forms
- Discards negative specimens
- Performs Flexilog at 80 CCF’s per hour or greater for routine urine specimens
- Manually prepares specimens for aliquotting and confirmation testing
- Understands the testing performed at the location and re-routes specimens received in error
- Has an advanced knowledge of the QTN Lab Information System and trains new personnel
- Multi-tasks between different processing workstations for all specimen and/or test matrices and demonstrates proficiency with each
- Orders department supplies from the warehouse and outside vendors
- Monitors special handling like Rejects, NOTEST, TIQ & Inactive Accounts
- Maintains positive specimen’s storage and discards positives that remain in storage beyond the required duration
- Document shipping receipt and tracking information
- Operates, troubleshoots, and performs preventative maintenance on the CV specimen aliquotters
- Retrieves specimens in secured frozen storage for added testing
- Researches client numbers and test code issues during the production shift
- Understands and adheres to strict forensic practices
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- Knowledge of SAMHSA regulations that pertain to specimen processing.
- Practical expertise and experience in specimen processing flow and demonstrated proficiency in specimen processing tasks
Preferred Work Experience:
3+ years in specimen processing
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Able to sit or stand for long periods
