Job Description


The Director of Operations Excellence provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure efficient business operations across the Patient Services organization in the Southwest Region Responsible for developing, implementing and optimizing systems, processes and policies that support organizational growth, profitability and operational excellence. Leads central team in region that supports the creation of actional plans that drive the company strategy.




Responsibilities:

Leading People & Teams: 

Leads, motivates and manages team of direct reports while influencing indirect reports to achieve high performance.  Collaborates with regional/functional patient services leader to set team objectives aligned with company goals. Develop strategies to meet employee engagement, talent development and employee retention goals.

Continuous Improvement/Transformation: 

Develop and implement continuous improvement programs and methodologies (ie: Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance operational performance.  In partnership with Business Transformation, challenges the status quo to find innovative ways to deliver and improve services, while keeping productivity in mind. Establish key performance measures to track success and analyze results. Supports managing change effectively by communicating plans and training materials for impacted teams.  Address resistance and promote buy-in for transformation efforts.  Assess learning & development needs and collaborate on solutions in support of company strategy.  Supports annual audit processes and the development of corrective action plans where needed.

Project Management: 

Responsible for planning, executing and closing projects (National & Regional) within specified timelines and within budget.  Involves coordinating resources, managing stakeholders and ensuring project objectives are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality.  Ensures compliance with all company and government regulations.

Financial acumen/Resource Allocation: 

Responsible for ensuring optimal allocation and management of resources within the region.  Requires ability to analyze staffing trends, provide direction and support team members.  Ensures that expenditures remain within allocated limits and participates in the achievement of cost cutting targets.

Relationship Management: 

Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal partners across function.  Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment through strong communications and interpersonal skills.  Connects work to the company vision to the work by ensuring transparency and engagement.




Qualifications:

Required Work Experience: 

  • Continuous Improvement approach to running the business, should have 10+ years of experience leading people &/or driving business results.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement, transformation or operational excellence.
  • Familiar with methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
  • Excellent project management skills (Project management certification is a plus)
  • Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing P&L;
  • Ability to build relationships while working in a highly matrixed and collaborative organization; in field operations, laboratory, or related healthcare field; 6+ years’ experience in field operations, laboratory, or related healthcare field.

Physical and Mental Requirements: 

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Position requires up to 60% travel.

Knowledge: 

  • Bachelor of Science or higher.

Skills: 

  • PC skills: Microsoft office suite, Tableau, Power BI, Power App, etc

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher
  • Travel between 50-75%
  • Manages regional training team, workforce management and/or business analysts as applicable
  • Leads cross functional projects teams
