Billing Representative II - Monday to Friday, Between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern

Pay range: $19.41 - $24 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

As a Billing Representative – Third Party you’ll play a critical role in creating a quality experience that impacts the financial well-being of our patients. You’ll be the expert problem solver as you work to quickly identify, analyze and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.  This is your chance to take your career to the next level as you support teams by reviewing and investigating claims.  Bring your listening skills, emotional strength and attention to detail as you work to ensure every claim has a fair and thorough review.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 4:30 pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.  

This includes the job training, and the hours of the training will be aligned.

In an environment where the patient is at the center of everything that we do the individuals in this position typically works with Billing Representatives and other employees handling complex billing issues for the purpose of collecting revenue for the organization. Will work with Patient, Client and/or Third Party insurance bills.  




Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and research denied claims by navigating multiple computer systems and platforms, to accurately capture data/information for processing.
  • Interprets explanation of benefits for appropriate follow up action.
  • Communicates and collaborates with members or providers to evaluate claims errors/issues, using clear, simple language to ensure understanding.     
  • Conducts data entry and re-work for adjudication of claims.
  • Adheres to all departmental Business Rules and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Creates worklist through Access database and manipulate data to analyze for trends and resolve claims for adjudication.
  • Focuses efforts on decreasing the Accounts Receivable, increasing cash, and/or reducing bad debt.
  • Utilizes automation tools to verify eligibility, claim status and/or to obtain better billing information.
  • Works on various other projects as needed.
  • Meets the performance goals established for the position in the areas of efficiency, accuracy, quality, patient and client satisfaction and attendance.




Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1+ years of experience in Quest Billing system (QBS) and / OR Web Billing System (WBS)
  • 1+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing, or Customer Service within the healthcare insurance or healthcare industry
  • Ability to use computer and Windows PC applications, such as Outlook, Excel, PDF, instant message, video conferencing
  • Keyboard and navigation skills and ability to learn new computer programs

  • Reside within Eastern Standard Time Zone
  • May occasionally need to go into office for Mailing of Appeals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical terminology acumen and experience

Soft Skills:

  • Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits.
  • Ability to exhibit empathy and be courteous to callers, to triage and handle escalated situations, to resolve calls, avoiding escalated complaints
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent High School Diploma or Required Work Experience (Required)
