Job Description


This role is responsible for leading the National Test Regionalization program, a key strategic initiative designed to optimize our lab network. The Senior Program Manager will drive the end-to-end process of identifying and migrating testing to optimize cost and delivery. This will be accomplished through the analytical review of tests and their FDA status, incorporating inputs from Esoteric, Regional Labs, and Health Systems. As the central owner of the program's strategic roadmap and execution, you will balance network capacity with demand, minimize multiple handling, and directly impact cost, turn-around-time (TAT), and operational efficiency.

This is a Remote opportunity however the incumbent must reside in a commutable distance to one of our major lab geographies: Boston, Newark NJ, Pittsburgh, Chantilly VA, Atlanta, Greensboro, Miami, Tampa, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Chicago, Denver, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles (West Hills or San Juan Capistrano), Sacramento or Seattle.

 Pay Range: $120,000 - $155,000/ year, 15% Bonus (The final offer and compensation package for this role may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location.)

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:
  • Own and execute the strategic plan for the National Test Regionalization Program across the Esoteric, Regional, and Health System networks, aligning with the broader goals of National Lab Operations (NLO) and Enterprise Transformation (ETLO).

  • Lead the analysis of FDA approved tests currently performed in Esoteric labs to identify opportunities for migration to regional labs, with the goal of improving cost and turn-around time.

  • Develop and present compelling business cases to senior leadership, utilizing detailed Cost of Testing models to demonstrate both financial savings and lead time reductions from moving tests.

  • Develop, maintain, and govern all program-related artifacts, including comprehensive program plans, timelines, and a clear list of deliverables.

  • Act as the single point of contact and accountability for test regionalization activities, owning the project pipeline and managing communication through the S&OP process to align demand and capacity analysis across NLO, Regional, Health Systems, and Esoteric labs.

  • Orchestrate and coordinate all cross-functional stakeholders—including R&D, Franchise, National Lab Ops, Regional Lab Ops, PMO, and Database teams—to ensure alignment and seamless execution.

  • Rigorously track program progress, risks, and issues, providing transparent and consistent status reporting to all stakeholder levels, from project teams to executive committees.

  • Proactively identify risks and lead mitigation planning to ensure program timelines and objectives are met.

  • Champion and support all related change management, communication, and adoption efforts to ensure smooth integration of new workflows across the laboratory network.



Qualifications:

Required Work Experience:

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in program management, operations, or a related field.

  • Clinical laboratory or Health system background required 

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs from strategy through execution.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with demonstrated experience creating business cases or cost benefit models.

  • Experience presenting program status, analysis, and recommendations to Executive Level leadership.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Business Transformation experience (e.g., Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent).

  • Experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or clinical diagnostics industry.

  • PMP certification.

Knowledge:

  • Expertise in program management principles, governance, and tools.

  • A strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical laboratory workflows.

  • Proficiency in risk and issue management practices.

  • Deep knowledge of performance tracking and reporting methods.

Skills:

  • Strong program execution and delivery skills.

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder coordination abilities.

  • Advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities.
