Compliance Audit Manager (remote)

Job Description

The Compliance Audit Manager is primarily responsible for leading compliance audit driven projects, performing compliance audits and supervising audit activities by junior staff, as assigned under the direction of the Director, Compliance Audit and/or the Compliance Management Team.

This position is responsible for proactively monitoring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and policy directives for Quest Diagnostics lines of business through audit and oversight of compliance related projects.  This includes leading all aspects of a compliance project and audit to completion, including but not limited to, managing customer relationships, developing data analytics, and driving process improvements. This position is also responsible for supervising audit activities by junior staff.  The ability to communicate with Compliance Management Team and collaborate across functions is critical to this role. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage oversight of compliance audit projects in planning, initiating, executing, analyzing, monitoring, controlling and closing
• Supervise audit activities by junior staff, including coaching and training junior auditors
• Lead and manage oversight of cross-functional, company-wide projects/initiatives for the Compliance Department and ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within scope
• Develop and manage comprehensive project documentation and data analytics to monitor and track progress of compliance audits and related projects and communicate status to Compliance Management team
• Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the audit process, including risk assessment discussions, communicating with the laboratory/region/function (including opening and closing meetings), directing the audit team through the audit, compiling the preliminary audit report, working with the laboratory/region/function to remediate all findings and reporting status updates by the end of each month
• Track acquisitions and collaborate with the Mergers and Acquisitions team to manage oversight of post-acquisition audit planning
• Produce yearly audit assessment and provide data analytics for Annual Report and Assessment for the Compliance Department 
• Act as a change agent to drive teams toward success 
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in the required field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in the healthcare or clinical laboratory environment
• 5 - 7 years leadership experience
• 5+ years project management experience (preferred)

• Experience in fact finding, analysis, problem solving, and evaluating matters in order to make recommendations

• Combination of strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to translate analytical insights into proposed operational or strategic changes

• Detailed knowledge of Compliance Policies and ability to explain and apply the policies to diverse fact patterns or the ability to learn them

• Understanding of federal and state fraud and abuse laws and regulations or ability to learn them

• Ability to prepare and present clear and concise written and verbal communications with director-level colleagues and customers 

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Exhibited ability to complete projects while meeting departmental goals within established time deadlines Builds relationships, influences without authority, is a team player and collaborates with other leaders to achieve desired results

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
• Experience with laboratory and billing systems
