Job Description
Pay range: $78,000-93,000, plus yearly bonus
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

The Workers' Compensation Specialist will work under the direction and supervision of the Regional Workers' Compensation Manager, and support workers’ compensation and return to work claims for Quest Diagnostics' West Region as assigned.
The position is hybrid and will work from the West Hills, CA site 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Report workers’ compensation claims to carrier timely.
Complete initial contact with injured employees timely and advise them of the workers’ compensation process and benefits as needed.
Lead return to work accommodation meetings with manager, supervisor and injured employee to effectively manage potential lost time cases to reduce lost time cases and days.
Proactively manage medical only and indemnity return to work claims from inception to closure or escalation to higher level claim management when necessary.
Effectively collaborate with EHS specialists, supervisors, injured employees, physicians, legal, and claim adjusters.
Respond to and resolve claim inquiries
Manage in-house claim management system including OSHA recordability, cause of injury, lost workdays, and accommodation days for accurate metrics.
Manage data files, including updating work status reports, and state specific documentation as needed.
Complete required reports as needed.
Assist the Regional Workers’ compensation manager with reports and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a workers’ compensation claims role
Ability to work independently with limited direction from manager.
Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act and other applicable federal and state statutes and regulations with a strong emphasis on California workers’ compensation law
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work and collaborate with claimants, customers, insureds, brokers, attorneys.
Technical knowledge of applicable state and local laws related claims management and return to work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Work Experience:
Familiarity with ADA/FEHA law.
California Workers’ Compensation Claims Administration certification.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Licenses and Certifications:
Workers' Compensation Claims Professional (WCCP) (preferred)
