UX Design Lead, the role:

The Quest Design Team is looking for an individual who understands that great design starts with user empathy. The right candidate for this role is a passionate leader with outstanding design chops. You have an unwavering desire to create amazing user experiences and you take a lot of pride in what you deliver. Your thirst for knowledge pushes you to keep up to date on trends. Your interpersonal skills lead to in-depth and insightful conversations.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of UX Designers; lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices.
  • Manage the Quest Design System
  • Build strong relationships with leaders inside and outside the design team to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.
  • Be responsible for and effectively advocate for users in a fast-paced, corporate climate, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business, and engineering.
  • Experience balancing product, development, and user-centered goals to help shape overall product strategy.
  • Experience working on a product from inception to release.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Generate interactive prototypes, workflows, and wireframes for business stakeholder presentations and customer usability testing
  • Conceptualize solid visual design solutions with attention to simplicity and user friendliness while addressing complex design problems.
  • Present and defend designs to peers and executive level stakeholders while tending to backlog of requests from our product teams.
  • Assist UX Researchers in conducting product evaluations and collecting user feedback for incorporation into further iterations of your design.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards through the implementation and maintenance of Quest’s UI design system.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • BS/BA degree in a design-related field
  • 7+ years of Agile SDLC experience; formal training in Agile methodologies a plus
  • Exceptional UI design skills for web-based, responsive applications; iOS or Android experience a plus
  • Strong background in Visual Design
  • Proficiency with design and collaboration tools
  • Experience mentoring and providing UX/UI guidance to other designers
  • Experience designing within the guidelines of an atomic and component-based design system
  • Comfortable championing the design thinking mentality with cross functional project teams including Stakeholders, Product Mgmt, Project Mgmt, BAs, QA, Development
  • Experience establishing and supporting
