Job Summary:

Responsible for the ongoing development, management, implementation and execution of a portfolio of Strategic Pricing projects.  The role will focus on a combination of some/all of the following key Pricing Strategy team deliverables:

  1. Clinical Franchises: own pricing, from new & existing products

  2. Value Quantification: on-going development

  3. Competitive Intelligence: content, tools and training

  4. Behavioral Fee: develop strategy, implementation, training and roll-out

Responsibilities will also include communications, training and coordination with other project managers.

 

Job Accountabilities may include:

  • Work with Clinical Franchises to develop value-based Pricing for new product launches.

  • Support pricing for Informatics (data diagnostics), Business Development (new ventures & markets), Science & Innovation (new technologies)

  • Implementation of ongoing pricing initiatives, with an immediate focus on Paper Report behavioral fee test

  • Develop, evaluate, and implement an eReq behavioral fee test in collaboration with Digital Excellence and Commercial Marketing

  • Collaborate with Clinical Franchise Product Managers to develop product segmentation, formulate Value Quantification models and drive strategic pricing negotiations

  • Manage Competitive Intelligence Program that collects competitor pricing, mines data, establishes reporting and provides competitor pricing guidance

  • Utilize market and competitive intelligence to derive insights for price planning and strategies in new product launches and pricing updates in collaboration with Clinical Franchise Pricing team

  • Keeps abreast of Medical Regulatory Affairs (CPT coding) changes and implications on pricing

  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate and prioritize existing and potential opportunities

Job Requirements: Incumbent should possess the knowledge, skills and experience usually obtained by

  • 6+ years in a combination of managed care, financial analysis, billing, product management, business development or operations roles in medium to large size companies.

  • BS degree in finance, business, or PMP Certified Project Management 

  • Pricing strategy and tactics reflecting a knowledge of healthcare (laboratory specific) industry complexities (payors, CPT coding, and billing environment relative to reimbursement dynamics)

  • Demonstrated creative thinking, problem solving, and organization skills.

  • Demonstrated experience leading process and policy change in a matrixed environment

  • Demonstrated strong presentation, communication and influence management skills.

  • Pricing analysis and modeling skills.  MS Office Suite proficiency, with Access and Excel and Microsoft Project preferred. 

  • Technology mindset – ability to understand the opportunity in emerging technologies

  • Six Sigma quality management experience preferred
