Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma - Edmond, Oklahoma - 5:30 am-2:00 pm Monday-Friday
Main Duties: Assists professional staff in routine technical tasks such as: preparation of reagents, specimen processing, loading instruments and send outs. Other duties to include filing, temperature checks, stocking supplies, answering telephone calls, etc. Receives specimens into the laboratory using Cerner and QLS LIS systems. Follow employer policies; work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner.
Required Knowledge: Good computer skills, customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology.
Required Experience: High School/GED; previous laboratory experience preferred.

stress. Teamwork with fellow employees
is a must. Keyboard skills are
important. Good
customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude. Able to work
any day including weekend and holidays; able to flex
hours and
work overtime for other shifts as needed. Show up for work, on time and prepared to
perform all tasks and processes, each and every scheduled work day and to
remain performing
those duties throughout the entire assigned work schedule for that day. Perform all tasks and processes assigned by your
immediate supervisor including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all
tasks and processes assigned that you may be over-qualified to perform. Perform the
previous two job duties/functions as a collaborative member of your work team and with a personal disposition that is positive and supportive of your fellow team members.
Quest Diagnostics Basic Purpose:
The SPT I is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This position requires passing a data entry assessment. Functions performed may include but are not limited to data entry of test orders, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, centrifugation and aliquoting. Department is a production environment, with emphasis on productivity/quality standards and departmental completion times. All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy and in a timely manner. Job is complex and requires that employee have good organization skills and ability to learn and understand specimen types related to test(s) ordered by client. The SPT I must have the ability learn and understand the compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change on a daily basis. This position is critical to quality for customer satisfaction. Additionally, since many changes do occur from day to day, great flexibility on the part of the SPT I is required. Majority of SPT I work, on the nightshift, but based on staffing needs weekends, holidays, on call and overtime is a requirement.
