Responsible for ensuring and maintaining the physical facilities of the Diagnostic Lab Of Michigan (DLM) Joint Venture between Quest Diagnostics and Corewell Health. This includes coordinating with outside contractors, electrical and mechanical repairs, and preventive maintenance on the facility and equipment. Responsible for the Environmental Health and Safety of the facility network and equipment within DLM, as well as its employees, contractors, and guests. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations pertaining to employee health and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the overall facility operations, including security systems, mechanical systems, and safety protocols.
- Partner with regional and national stakeholders with Quest Diagnostics and Corewell Health to ensure alignment of approach and problem resolution as needed.
- Partners with regional and Quest Corporate Real Estate to oversee lease renewals and terminations.
- Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely procurement of supplies, equipment maintenance, and repairs.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security measures to safeguard laboratory assets and sensitive information.
- Coordinate with external service providers for the upkeep of mechanical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and laboratory equipment.
- Assist with establishing emergency contact procedures for unscheduled system interruptions or equipment malfunctions.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues.
- Work closely with the laboratory management team to optimize facility layouts and workflows for operational efficiency.
- Work closely with finance to develop and manage the laboratory facilities budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies.
- Lead or assist with waste management and removal operations.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
- Establishes goals and priorities to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety regulations and guidelines.
- Partners with DLM leadership to promote effective EHS practices and ensure support for EHS initiatives, providing guidance to DLM leadership as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- Previous experience managing laboratory facilities.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Prior experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory setting

- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
