The Vice President and General Manager will be responsible for managing the full P&L of the global
markets, leading a team of up to 600 individuals, depending on region, with a focus on driving above
market growth, operational excellence, improved profitability and continuing to drive high employee
engagement. This position will be responsible for managing, developing and leading the team and
organization supporting and driving all aspects of the Value Delivery operations within Global Markets.
Our Global Markets Team is in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Canada and European Markets.


The ideal candidate will be an experienced general manager who can quickly understand the global
business, develop and drive execution of a strategies that balances the need for growth with the need to
improve profit. This leader will be comfortable making appropriate tradeoffs between cost/profit and
growth, working in close collaboration with the commercial and operations leaders of the company.


  • Develop the strategic plan for the global markets business, including a value proposition that
    will support revenue growth and increased customer loyalty; emphasis should be on service
    portfolio prioritization and optimization, determining where to invest, based on customer
    feedback, to maximize the profitable growth of the business
  • Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Global Markets business, including a value
    proposition that will support double digit revenue growth and OM growth.
  • Drive increased customer loyalty; emphasis should be on service portfolio prioritization and
    optimization, determining where to invest, based on customer feedback, to maximize the
    profitable growth of the business.
  • Provide leadership and drive business development across the globe by leading Managing
    Directors of Central America & Mexico; Caribbean & Latin America; UK and EMEA; & Asia Pacific.
  • Ensures leadership of the full-service, 525 employee Mexico business including the laboratory,
    patient service centers, commercial, and other supporting functions to drive revenue growth
    and OM expansion.
  • Build C-suite relationship with leading labs around the World. Enable success of Global
    Diagnostics Network (GDN).
  • Evaluate and Drive new Business Development and M&A/Partnership opportunities in the lab industry.
  • Provide commercial leadership for global Blueprint Genetics team and drive double digit revenue growth and OM expansion.

  • Work closely with key functional leaders on critical business issues such as competitive positioning and competitive strategy; sales effectiveness; new business development; turnaround time; test menu; and other initiatives to drive increased revenue growth.
  • Increase operational effectiveness, discipline, productivity and bottom-line results, by implementing best-in-class processes and metrics while at the same time driving a culture of strong medical quality and service.
  • Analyze operating results and their principal components relative to established objectives. Ensure the soundness of the business’ financial structure; take appropriate steps for corrective action as required; and communicate these steps and results to the executive team, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the Global Markets is a customer-centric organization that is responsive to external issues as well as to internal staff needs.
  • Assess current talent and ensure that there is a highly committed and capable management team and business development team in place, coaching and mentoring incumbents and/or bringing in additional talent as needed.
  • Create a culture of engagement and inclusion within the global markets

  • 10+ years previous clinical laboratory experience
  • 10+ years people leadership experience
  • Experience managing a full P&L of at least $500 million in the healthcare services or medical technology segments of healthcare.
  • Experience in developing and executing sophisticated sales and marketing strategies, taking advantage of new market opportunities while being mindful of the actions of competitors.
  • Experience overseeing operational improvements that drive increased profitability, greater operational effectiveness, and efficiency, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience building strong relationships with strategic customers.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization to drive growth, partnership, and engagement from the front line to the C-suite
  • Travel Required: Up to 50%, domestic and international travel
  • BA/BS in Sciences required; MBA preferred
  • Languages Required - English; languages preferred - Spanish, Portuguese
  • Ability to identify, recruit and retain top-notch talent that will drive the success of the business, creating advancement opportunities and deepening a strong talent development culture that produces outstanding talent needed to sustain a growing enterprise.
