Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Software Test Engineering is responsible for Software Quality Assurance / Test Engineering across the Product and Application portfolio involving the planning, coordination, and execution of software testing activities, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and security. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare and financial regulations, including HIPAA, CLIA/CAP, FDA, and SOX, to ensure software solutions are compliant and reliable. The Software Test Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, secure, and compliant healthcare technology solutions.
Resource scope includes personnel, processes, procedures, and tools. This responsibility involves being a quality and test advocate, resource demand management and resolution of quality issues impeding testing efforts as well as mitigation / implementation of continuous software quality product improvements. The Manager champions or manages continuous improvement of the timeliness, accuracy and quality of business, functional, and non-functional outcomes for all products within the supported portfolio.
The position requires strong technical leadership, enterprise influence, and a proven ability to deliver transformational outcomes.
*The position is based in Secaucus, NJ. Please note the work arrangement is hybrid (3 days in office & 2 days WFH).
Pay Range: $135 - $145/ year
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:
Support and Manage YoY and / or Multi-Year Quality Roadmap, approach and execution against Application Portfolio(s) goals.
Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for healthcare and finance-related software projects.
Manage, lead, and mentor the execution of testing service capabilities and a team of Test Engineers to deliver high quality software products.
Responsible for all aspects of quality project delivery (test planning, estimates, resource fulfillment, task management, scheduling, risk management, test execution, lower environment management, defect management and Key Performance Indicators).Estimate the test effort and team (size, skills, and schedule)
Personnel management responsibilities include staff procurement, assignments, retention, and performance management as well as supporting career development, which includes multiple teams of Test Leads and Test Engineers.
Ensure all testing processes and deliverables comply with relevant regulatory requirements and documentation is complete, reviewable, and audit ready.
Ensure all team scope, quality, schedule and cost commitments are met which includes ensuring the proper planning, prioritizing, and executing complex testing projects under tight deadlines.
Lead/contribute to establishing, revising and verifying testing service offerings, quality standards, processes, and procedures for company process improvement.
Design, gather and evaluate Key Performance Indicators from testing efforts, using data to support suggested changes for improvement to quality processes.
Ensure software product releases are completed in a timely and accurate manner by delegating responsibilities between team members and providing team members with directions and timelines.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure mitigation plans are in place for regulatory and compliance issues.
Responsible for the integrity of the test plans, test data, test environment, and coordination with support areas for specific projects which include their compliance with industry’s standards and regulations.
Point of Contact for the identification of automation opportunities as well as partner with the Automation and DevSecOps services to oversee the selection and implementation of “off the shelf” automation framework, test data, test environment, and other DevSecOps solutions.
Responsible for reporting project test status to the Director of Test Engineering and project stakeholders as required.
Responsible for team interaction with Development, BA, PM, QE, Production Support, and Management ensuring clear requirements and traceability.
Lead root cause analysis for software nonconformances, validation failures, defect leakage to production
Continuously improving test processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness, while maintaining compliance.
Prepare and present test metrics, progress, and compliance status reports to stakeholders and management.Stay current with emerging regulations, standards, and best practices in healthcare and financial software testing.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Software Development or Quality Assurance Leadership Role (Technical / Staff).
Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in a Software Development or Quality Assurance Role.
Experience in managing organizational talent (Minimum 2 years in resource management experience).
Proven experience working in regulated healthcare environment
Strong knowledge of software development life cycles (SDLC) – Agile Scrum/Kanban, testing methodologies, and quality assurance best practices.
Experience with CMMI, TMMI, Agile (Scrum Master), Six Sigma (Black/Green).
Proven track record of managing cross-functional programs and delivering enterprise-level platform solutions.
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across business units, technical teams, and VP and C-level stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a bias for execution and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated understanding of regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance) with compliance-driven Testing practices (NIST, CLIA/CAP HIPPA, FDA 21 CFR part 802 & part 11, ISO 13485, Gamp5, SOX, PCI DSS). Experience in GenAI tooling integration or innovation programs.
- People Leader Responsibility: Lead a team of 50+ members
Advanced knowledge of Software Testing theories and practices
Knowledge of Agile – Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
Experience with CMMI, TMMI, Six Sigma (Black/Green)
CLIA/CAP, FDA 21 CFR parts 820 and 11, ISO 13485, Gamp5, SOX, PCI DSS
- Travel Required 10-15% as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Analytics, Informatics, Healthcare or equivalent.
Preferred:
Certification in software testing or quality assurance (e.g. ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA)
Preferred Epic Certification – Beaker, Resolute (RCM), Prelude, and/or Cadence
Skills:
Strong leadership skills, strong MS Office skills, MS project Skills, Visio, Strong written and oral communication skills
Knowledge:
Software Testing theories and practices, tools development experiences for testing and QA
