Sr Director, Finance - Oncology and Genetics

This position serves as the lead finance business partner to the Oncology and Genetics Franchises, R&D, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, and the Haystack MRD line of business. The role is responsible for collaborating with senior management to lead and execute strategic growth opportunities, new product launches, value engineering, strategic partnership opportunities, collaborations with industry partners, and M&A modeling and evaluation.

The position also leads a finance team, providing financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic support and full P&L responsibility for the Haystack MRD line of business. 


  • Serve as Finance business partner to the General Managers and Vice Presidents of the Oncology Franchise, Genetics Franchise, Haystack, R&D, and the newly formed Quality & Regulatory Affairs team.
  • Actively participate in Market Strategy evaluation to review and prioritize growth initiatives, new product introduction and lifecycle management, based on financial analyses and projected returns.
  • Evaluate and identify opportunities to improve margin performance, including partnering with regional and esoteric finance teams and R&D scientists to identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
  • Engage with Oncology, R&D, and the Project Management teams to understand new product and project launch timelines; and forecast and communicate the revenue and margin impacts to the Regions.
  • Drive strategic alignment and solutioning across the Franchise teams, Commercial Leadership and Commercial Excellence/Operations teams relative to pricing for RFPs and sales pipeline analytics.
  • Support new product development and the Idea to Market process, identifying, aligning and prioritizing growth opportunities with Franchise, R&D, Commercial and Laboratory Operations stakeholder input.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive coverage and reimbursement for the Haystack MRD offering.
  • Manage capital budgets and lead capital investment analyses & projects for business partners.
  • Partner with and support efforts led by the Quality and Regulatory Affairs team, supporting implementation and compliance with newly published FDA regulations covering Laboratory Developed Tests.
  • Build and manage expense budgets and updated projections for all business partners.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, laboratory science preferred
  • Strong financial, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Innovative thinking to work effectively and cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Proven track record managing a team and delivering positive results
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

15+ years of business experience in healthcare industry

10+ years of management experience
