Job Description
Pay Range: $115,000 - $130,000 / year
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Revenue Recognition & Analytics is a Center of Excellence in the corporate finance function at Quest Diagnostics. The department has ownership and responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of reported revenue, patient concessions, bad debt and associated accounts receivable reserves. Our mission is to provide value added insight, analysis and financial reporting to safeguard the company’s assets and maximize cash flow. Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable Reserve maintenance is one of the Company’s “significant accounting policies” as defined in the Company’s SEC filings, as it involves a high degree of judgment.
The Sr. Manager will lead the Company’s centralized revenue function with direct ownership and accountability for the accuracy and integrity of the reported revenue and accounts receivable reserves. Responsible for reporting and analysis of receivables and financial evaluation of disallowance and bad debt reserves. Responsible for accounts receivable policies and procedures. Special project work. Responsible for review of industry and regulatory changes and determination of financial implications.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and develop staff.
• Perform all activities required to record disallowance and bad debt reserves and provide assessment of adequacy.
• Perform detailed business unit specific reviews for appropriateness of reserve position and compliance to A/R policies. May be accomplished through desk audits or site visits, as warranted. (Could require up to 10% travel)
• Present to Senior Management monthly on activity and reserve position.
• Accounts receivable finance liaison for newly acquired businesses. Includes evaluating opening balance sheet position, communicating and establishing standard accounting procedures, and educating local staff.
• Monitor run out related to system conversions and divestiture. Review and monitor plans and actions to ensure cash maximization.
• Drive the development and roll out of standard financial models to be deployed to the field to supplement analysis on the adequacy of reserves.
• Maintenance of Accounts Receivable Policies and Procedures.
• Sarbanes Oxley – responsible for all related activities as a key control owner.
• Monthly special projects (current examples – standardization initiatives, price canyon development)
• Identify and drive bad debt reduction opportunities.
• Key contact for field and corporate personnel to address all sales, bad debt and accounts receivable related questions.
• Provide assistance in completing all financial audit requests for documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of progressive work experience in Accounting
Strong computer skills, analytical skills and interpersonal skills
Action oriented self-starter
Natural sense of curiosity
Ability and desire to subsequently be promoted into higher positions
B.S. Accounting or Finance
Knowledge of the healthcare industry, billing and accounts receivable issues a plus CPA/MBA a plus
Limited travel required (< 10%)
Overtime required during month-end close, special projects
