Epic Sr. Analyst, Ambulatory - IV (Remote)
Job Description
The Lead Ambulatory Analyst is a senior level technical expert responsible for the design, advanced configuration, and lifecycle management of Epic Systems with a specialized focus on genetic counselor workflows and genomic data integration. As a technical lead they define the standards for how genetic testing data is captured, visualized and utilized within the ambulatory environment. They act as the primary liaison between the Clinical genetics department and external stakeholders to translate complex clinical needs into scalable technical solutions. This role goes beyond standard maintenance to drive innovation ensuring that Quest’s Ambulatory tools provide a cohesive value chain for high complexity diagnostics.Remote-friendly with flexible in-office options nationally.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, configuration of the most complex system enhancements for the team.
- Serve as a technical escalation point on complex system enhancements, enterprise level projects and mergers and acquisitions integrations.
- Acts as the primary technical liaison between the ambulatory team, enterprise architects and business stakeholders.
- Provide expert level trouble shooting and resolution.
- Establish and hold others accountable for technical standards, best practices and documentation guidelines to ensure quality and consistency.
- Lead research and development initiatives to evaluate and pilot new Epic functionalities and third party integrations.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the Ambulatory team, other application teams, enterprise architects and business stakeholders.
- Drives lean innovation by identifying and championing opportunities for system optimization, and automation.
- Mentors the entire Analyst team, establishes technical standards and seves as a role model for professional development.
- Ensure the security, stability and performance of Epic Ambulatory ecosystem
- Serve as a role model for pursuing continuous education and advanced certifications.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 10+ years of extensive experience with Epic Applications including multiple full implementations
- 7+ years’ experience in Epic Ambulatory application
- Advanced knowledge of HL7 messaging, API integrations, and EMR/EHR functionality. Familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) is preferred.
- In depth knowledge of healthcare industry practices and clinical workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
- Deep experience in the Laboratory and Diagnostics industry.
- Understands Genetic Counseling Workflows.
- Understanding of Scheduling and Check-In workflows in a clinic setting.
- Advanced certifications in multiple Epic modules.
Travel Required
- College degree in computer science, information science or equivalent work experience (Required)
- Epic Ambulatory certification (Required)
- Prelude and Cadence certifications (Required)
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) to support process improvement initiatives. (Preferred)
