Epic Beaker Analyst I
Job Description
The Epic Beaker Analyst supports the configuration, testing, and maintenance of the Epic Beaker Application across one or more laboratory specialty areas. This role collaborates with laboratory and technology teams to optimize workflows, uphold system integrity and governance standards, and troubleshoot functional and technical issues that impact operations and patient insights.
The Analyst demonstrates a strong understanding of laboratory processes and the order-to-cash workflow, collaborating with laboratory subject-matter experts and Epic Application stakeholders to ensure system design is accurate, efficient, compliant, and enhances the experience for patients, providers, and employees.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain Beaker CP/AP master data, test compendia, specimen workflows, and result reporting structures.
- Design and optimize order entry, accessioning, result, and billing workflows ensuring seamless integration with Epic Orders, Bridges, and Resolute.
- Partner with business and laboratory leaders to translate operational needs into scalable system configurations.
- Participate in full life-cycle implementations, upgrades, and validation testing.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive timely resolution.
- Document configuration, decision logic, and validation evidence to meet CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, and audit requirements.
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- Demonstrated success improving order to cash workflows
- Strong understanding of specimen processing, test codes, billing triggers and lab data integrity
- Effective collaboration and communication skills across laboratory, Technology and revenue cycle teams
- Experience in healthcare IT or in a laboratory environment
- Must be familiar with laboratory workflows and terminology
Preferred Work Experience:
- Active Epic Certification in relevant Epic Application
- 2+ years experience in Epic Beaker configuration in CP, AP or both
- Cross-module experience with Epic Orders, Resolute, Bridges, or MyChart.
- Experience with reference-lab or multi-site Beaker environments
- Lab Technician Experience a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (Required)
Work Requirements
- Travel Required - about 25% (once a month)
