General Surgical Pathologist
Pay Range: $300,000 - $380,000 annually
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

General Surgical Pathologist – Schaumburg, IL
Our laboratory located in Schaumburg, IL (a suburb of Chicago) is looking to add a General Surgical Pathologist to their team of 11 Pathologists. We are seeking a candidate that is AP/CP certified and potentially brings sub-specialty experience in cytopathology, genitourinary pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and/or dermatopathology. We are an industry leader and in this role you will join a great team of professionals with an outstanding support staff.
- Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material
- Diagnosis to include: gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation, and electronic release of reviewed cases
- Participate as an active medical member of the department with substantial diagnostic case responsibilities
- Participate in client visits, peer consults, and continuing education
- Perform quality control and assurance
- Interact with ordering physicians who request to speak with a pathologist
- Read and interpret laboratory data
- Provide expertise and help to technologists and technicians to resolve problems
- Participate in departmental professional Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities, e. g. Pathologist Competency Assessment Program
- Doctor of Medicine
- AP/CP Board Certification
- Active unrestricted licensure for IL
- Sub-specialty boards preferred but not required
- Experience interpreting serum protein electrophoresis/immunofixation and hematology peripheral smears preferred but not required.
- Experience in a large biopsy or cytology lab preferred
- Fulfill responsibilities listed in CLIA '88 if required
- Open to flexible day shift hours
- Occasional travel to meet clients may be required
