Job Description

Purpose of the Role – Summary:

Provide technical expertise and support for LIS standardization. Work with national leaders to develop interface specifications, test standards, and provide training and support for new equipment, software changes to current platforms, interface functionality enhancements and other LIS standardization initiatives. Works across regional labs to improve and standardize processes relating to the management of workflow and reporting of results on equipment.

Responsibility Areas:

1.     Develop training documents and other tools relating to LIS standards and deployment.

2.     Define success metrics for LIS standardization in the technical areas.

3.     Develop LIS functionality as needed to meet customer requirements

4.     Develop LIS testing protocols

5.     Drive standardization of testing – common processes and instrument interfaces – platform optimization.

6.     Audit laboratories for non-conformance to process standardization.

7.     Participate in eDBR Queue prioritization, development  and deployment

8.     Liaison between national leaders, operations, compliance, QIS, and IT to drive requirements and standards for instrument interfaces relating to Q suite

9.     Ensure Q suite RFS requirements are met  and coordinate regional testing & training for the LIS and software applications.

10.   Drive instrument interface standards and functional tools for regional consolidation.

11.   Spend time working in regional labs – across multiple regions – ensure a common working knowledge of standard LIS and workflow processes.

12.   Support for equipment choice/software upgrades – national leader relations, supplier interaction to determine impact to LIS.

13.   Maintaining supplier relationship in support of instrument workflow standardization and resolve issues relating to interface development.

14.   Coordinates resolution with Medical/national leaders/QIS/IT/regional ops instrument interface issues

15.   Assist IT/LOS and the lab to resolve issues that surface during process gap analysis, instrument set-up and validations, work with national leaders and operations to mitigate problems.. Get final approval on interface documentation.

Critical Know How and Skill – Selection Criteria

  • Clinical and technical expertise in Lab Operations, standard LIS functionality, instrument interface development, and workflow management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations/IT applications
