Job Description
Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Direct the development and execution of the business unit’s strategy by coordinating input, standards, and resources from corporate, regional, and the business unit’s objectives. Balance technical requirements and standards from regional, corporate and managed lab partners to accomplish the business unit’s requirements. Implement the strategy through the coordinated efforts of the local IT Staff utilizing support from corporate IT, regional IT and selected vendors. Maintain high functioning relationships with managed lab partners to promote high quality laboratory service delivery and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Strategize and prioritize future and current requirements for improved business unit and managed lab partners for IT efficiency and effectiveness.
- Staff the IT department with effective positions and personnel while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Demonstrates solid people leadership skills to motivate, coach and support both manager staff & employees.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining an inclusive and positive workplace within the BU assigned departments, for customer satisfaction, effective business unit support, expense controls and efficient capital resource allocation.
- Continually discuss current and future business strategies with business unit, regional and corporate experts, and managed lab partners.
- Serves on Senior Leadership Team for JV and assists in the development of business strategy for the organization. Continually discuss current and future business strategies with business unit, regional and corporate experts, and managed lab partners.
- Serve on multi—functional groups to provide local IT and BU experience.
- Project 6-month, 1-year and 3-year IT plans to implement prioritized projects that support the strategies.
- Manage business unit’s IT resources within budgeted and corporate guidelines.
- Analyze the direct benefits, risks and continuing contributions of functional areas including telephony, telecommunications, customer interface subsystems, end user applications and computer operations, network architecture, IT Security and business continuity. Understand how technology drives ROI and overall business growth.
- Evaluate client technology needs; maximize workflow with technology implementations; ensure excellent customer satisfaction with Business Unit technology services and products.
- Select and negotiate with vendors specific to tasks and projects related to the local business unit
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge:
- BS or Masters degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in business systems and all major IT disciplines
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of combined technical expertise (application platform management, cloud computing, network architecture, telecom architecture, business continuity and cybersecurity), business acumen (strategic thinking, financial understanding), and leadership kills (communication, team management, and decision-making).
- Must have a strong background and understanding of current and emerging technology trends for the medical laboratory industry.
Special Requirements:
- Knowledge of the following areas: reference laboratory, budgeting, business strategies, employee relations, customer relations, vendor relations, telecommunications, LAN/WAN, end user device management, IT security, business continuity and project management.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Capacity to embrace change and navigate complex technology landscapes.
- Critical thinking and the ability to find solutions.
- Position requires travel and excellent written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
