Senior Security Specialist
Job Description
The Security Specialist effectively manages Applications Analysts assigned to the security workgroup, understands Epic’s security infrastructure, and provisions security for users. The role is focused on security design, governance and compliance to ensure proper access control and application integrity.
*Please note this position will be hybrid (3 days in office & 2 days WFH). The position can be based in one of the following locations; Norristown, PA, Secaucus, NJ, Schaumburg, IL, Tampa, FL, or Addison, TX.

Responsibilities:
- Provisions application security levels and roles
- Establishes ownership of each particular security class
- Coordinates security template and role updates and establishes a security change control process
- Coordinates security related activity across infrastructure (network, servers, operating system) and application (Epic or non-Epic) teams
- Works with application and compliance teams to design system level access
- Creates user records and maps them to templates built by application analysts
- Creates appropriate shared security classification which does not have specific application ownership
- Creates and maintains procedures to activate, deactivate, and update user records
- Collaborates with the IAM development team in implementing and managing access within the Quest standard automated systems to control user access, ensure compliance, and reduce security risks.
- Work with the PAM team to secure critical, high-level access by managing privileged accounts within the Quest PAM solution.
- Understands the Epic software security structures, including user profiles, roles and security classes
- Conducts thorough testing and troubleshooting of security configurations and permissions
- Works in collaboration with Epic to implement new projects, such as a new module
- Manages upgrades of assigned application with Epic by setting timelines, maintaining continuous communication and addressing issues with a sense of urgency
- Build relationships with end users and provides timely and consistent support
- Communicates problem status and solutions to end users
- Provide subject matter expertise in Epic security best practices and access control frameworks
- Supports audit readiness and documentation for regulatory compliance
Provide on-call support outside of regular business hours when needed
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience within Technology
Required:
- 2-3 years of experience working with Epic systems in security analysis or related field
- Proven experience in Epic security design and configuration
- Strong understanding of security governance, compliance and auditing processes
- Experience in healthcare security management
- Active Epic Security Certification
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
