Job Description


The Senior Product Manager plays a critical role in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of our products and solutions. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, deliver customer-centric solutions, and support business growth from concept through launch and ongoing optimization.

The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and brings a strong understanding of product development, market dynamics, and customer needs.

Work schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home 

Preference will also be given to someone residing outside of KS meeting preferred work experience listed below.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Translate strategic goals into clear, actionable product plans and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of product capabilities, customer needs, and market opportunities.

Product Development & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end product development, from concept and MVP through launch and iteration.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, scope initiatives, and drive execution.
  • Support user acceptance testing, go-to-market planning, and release execution.

Market & Customer Insights

  • Conduct and synthesize market research to identify trends, competitive insights, and growth opportunities.
  • Incorporate customer and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve products and solutions.
  • Balance client (funders) needs with end-user (patients/applicants) experiences to drive meaningful impact.

Roadmap & Prioritization

  • Own and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on value, feasibility, and business impact.
  • Communicate roadmap progress and priorities through executive-level presentations and updates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with analytics, commercial leaders, marketing, technical development, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Serve as a product subject-matter expert for internal teams, supporting commercialization, sales enablement, and customer success efforts.

Innovation & Growth

  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing solutions and introduce new offerings.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments.
  • Foster an innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement and scalable growth.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal partners to support solution delivery and strategic objectives.



Qualifications:

Required Work Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, product development, product strategy, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including direct management, coaching, performance management, and development of individual contributors.
  • Experience leading and supporting Product Owners or similar roles, with accountability for delivery, prioritization, and execution.
  • Proven experience managing products across the full lifecycle, including concept development, MVP delivery, launch, and post-launch optimization.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional teams (e.g., analytics, engineering, commercial, marketing) to deliver business outcomes.

Preferred Work Experience: 

  • Experience in life Insurance or other regulated or highly complex environments.
  • Experience launching and scaling new products or solutions.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors or strategic partners.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale or multi-stakeholder product portfolios.

Physical and Mental Requirements: 

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cognitive focus required for strategic planning, problem-solving, data analysis, and decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multiple levels of the organization.

Technical / Job-Specific Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies, processes, and best practices (e.g., Agile, iterative development, MVP frameworks).
  • Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans.
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to analyze market data, customer insights, and performance metrics to inform product decisions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Directly manage and develop four (4) Product Owners, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.

  • Master’s Degree
