Forensic Toxicology Laboratory File Clerk - Lenexa, KS - Friday - Tuesday - 12:00PM-8:30PM
10% Evening Shift Differential
10% Weekend Shift Differential
Under the general supervision and control of an exempt supervisor, this individual is responsible for the records management activities for the unit. This individual will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of data filing, preparation for data retention and movement of data to off-site storage. This individual is also responsible for overall departmental compliance with all applicable policies.
Pay Range: $17.20+ per hour
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
- Place documents in appropriate files according to the department filing system. Sorts and files material in alphabetical or numerical order or according to subject matter.
- Keep files current in order that co-workers can obtain necessary information. Searches and investigates information contained in files.
- Maintain organization and placement of files within facility and off-site storage and retrieves files as needed. Maintains records of material modified or removed.
- Post and abstract information from files; and prepares index and cross-reference aids.
- Perform a combination of manual and clerical filing and/or storage duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data.
- Analyze current procedures in place and make recommendations for process improvements to the Lab Manager.
- Comply with all applicable and current Employer Solutions, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, OSHA, CLIA, etc. policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Work Experience:
1 year prior work experience is file clerk

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to lift up to seventy (70) pounds
- Ability to operate materials handling equipment as needed (fork lift, pallet jack, etc.)
Knowledge:
N/A
Skills:
- Good record keeping skills
- Ability to operate a computer, printer and bar code scanner
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) or equivalent
- Must have valid driver license and driving record that meets Quest Diagnostics driver safety guidelines and the ability to drive motor vehicle (non-commercial truck, van, car) as required
