Manager, Business Transformation
Job Description
This position will lead a variety of continuous improvement (CI) and process improvement projects and teams to apply Business Transformation (BT) principles and tools to ensure Quest Diagnostics is efficient and effective in the delivery of its services, solutions, and processes while improving customer and employee satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply BT principles and tools to their daily work.
This is an Onsite position at Irving Lab. We are open to applicants from Houston, TX
Work Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home
Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000/ year
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:
Leads, Owns & Manages BT Improvement projects
- Works with teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close mid-sized projects
- Leads projects through the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables
- Guides team members to perform through issues and constraints
- Coach’s project leaders through issues, roadblocks, problems and ensures all appropriate CI tools are used effectively
- Required to roll up sleeves and work through detailed issues
Partners with Business stakeholders
- Communicates actively with project sponsors and stakeholders
- Manages sponsor expectations and delivers the expected results
- Adapts to different levels of organization
- Works with functional and site leaders as a "thought leader" to drive improvement projects
- Acts as a change agent to drive teams toward success
- Coacheslocal team members to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities
Drives Continuous Improvement
- Leads efforts to implement process confirmation and change management
- Contributes to building a grass-roots culture of continuous improvement
- Facilitate Kaizen workshops and targeted improvement events to help teams quickly achieve results
- Creates improvement roadmaps with clear executable plans in line with Business goals
- Works with local team members to instill effective daily work management behaviors and measures
- Coach’s other employees on the use of various tools, concepts and practices foundational to BT to build self-sufficiency, sustainability and scalability
- Participates in Communities of Practice
- Leads BT Training Classes
- Documents business processes
- Completes required continued learning
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- Demonstrated application of LEAN application and sustainment
5 – 7 years of direct responsibility of operational ownership of different aspects of a business, and Continuous Improvement execution
Preferred Work Experience:
Flow Manufacturing
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects
Frequent walking and/or standing.
Knowledge:
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in LEAN deployment, process management, or system thinking (5-7 yrs)
- Demonstrated experience using structured problem-solving skills and data-driven approach that identifies the root causes & corrective action
- Demonstrated experience leading projects from initiation to completion
- Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions or workshops
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with others
- Demonstrated experience leading changes (5+ yrs)
- Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders
- Demonstrated experience with process management
- Basic knowledge of VOC tools & some DFSS tools
- General knowledge of Hoshin and breakthrough planning
Skills:
- Comfortable with statistical analysis
