Hospital Lab Mgr- Chicago, Illinois - Monday to Friday

We are seeking a Hospital Laboratory Manager with strong leadership skills for our client hospital located in Chicago. This is a great opportunity to join a great management team and grow your career with Quest Diagnostics.

The Hospital Laboratory Manager is responsible for all Hospital Laboratory Management and delivering on contract obligations. The manager acts as a liaison between the hospital client and Quest Diagnostics while providing leadership to the laboratory staff. Ensures quality control and follow-up procedures are developed and implemented. Collects and analyzes data and prepares a variety of analyses and reports. Ensures Laboratory Supervisor(s) are effectively performing duties.
The Hospital Laboratory Manager is accountable for the accuracy and reliability of all services provided by the departments under his/her supervision.
Ensures policies and practices meet all regulatory standards and requirements.

Education, Experience, Licensure

The Laboratory Manager must minimally possess a Bachelors’ degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or other related sciences, and qualifies as a general laboratory supervisor under CLIA.
Five or more years managerial experience in the laboratory industry, preferably with some prior hospital experience. Must demonstrate ability to lead or manage through supervisory or area lead responsibilities.

Lab consolidation experience.
Master’s in Business or Healthcare Administration.
Completed courses or experienced in Project Management
Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a very dynamic team environment.
Considerable knowledge of the general laboratory services and testing requirements.
Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
Strong client interaction skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
