Job Description
QA Specialist - Greensboro, NC, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay range: $58,656+ per year
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide QA support for the Rapid Response Labs in the SE region.
- Assist labs with Proficiency Testing investigations and write-ups of unacceptable results.
- Support for other incident investigations, process improvement activities, and root cause analysis.
- Provide inspection assistance, including remediation of citations.
- Participate in onsite inspections across the region with the Internal Inspection Team and individually.
- Perform Document Control of procedures and forms, as needed.
- Work with other QA Specialists and management in the region on special projects, as assigned.
- Conduct monthly QA meetings for the Rapid Response Labs.
- Provide training to RRL staff, as needed, on QA processes.
- Perform periodic visits to RRLs, as assigned.
- Serve as a licensure coordinator for regional licenses.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, as needed.
- Maintain and grow expertise for quality standards for applicable accrediting agencies (COLA, CAP, state).
- Stay current on technical methods, Quest processes, and changing eQMS systems.
- Participate in national meetings, continuing education sessions, etc., as assigned.
- Assist other team members to fill in temporary gaps in coverage, as assigned.
- Demonstrate flexibility, independent problem-solving, strong communication skills, teamwork, integrity, respect, and initiative.
- Attend all QA team and regional meetings, via Teams or in person.
- 25 to 50% travel, which may vary from month to month, depending on business needs within the region.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Work Experience:
- At least three years of experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting.
- Competency management and technical training.
- Laboratory regulation/accreditation.
- MLS National certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field is required.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Previous experience in QA, Risk Management, or Compliance preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be willing to travel within the region upto 50%, as business needs require.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of laboratory regulations
Skills:
- PC application skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
