Summary:

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for driving top line growth in working with the Regional Finance Director and in partnership with the regional Vice President, Commercial, the Executive Sales Directors, and the Director of Commercial Excellence. This individual is responsible for analytics and implementing processes to identify and execute revenue growth opportunities by partnering closely with Regional Sales Directors and their respective teams. The position will play a critical role working with the Commercial Organization in modeling new business opportunities and in preparing profitability analysis and monitoring follow-up actions. The position will also support the Health plan regional leadership in assessing new health plan contracts and renewal of existing contracts in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities (Please state the key responsibilities and accountabilities of this position)

o    Provides critical analysis, pricing and support for all strategic growth opportunities and RFP’s, including:

  • Customer and contract profitability
  • In-Office Phlebotomists (IOPs) ~ informs subsequent profitability analysis (look-back) of IOP placements
  • Patient Service Centers (PSCs) ~ provides analysis to support both the renewal and new selection process
  • Connectivity ~ supports the initial justification and subsequent look back analysis

o    Responsible for working closely with the Centralized Revenue Recognition and Analytics team, especially during month end close, to ensure appropriate revenue and volume recording and related variance analysis

o    Local point of contact for sales inquiries & ad-hoc analysis; payor mix & pricing, local billing systems, etc.

o    Plays a critical role in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) creation and subsequent building of the annual revenue and volume budget

o    Responsible for daily requisition volume reporting along with quarterly forecasting and monthly outlooks of future volume performance and related revenue

o    Provides financial analysis and recommendations to support Account Management activities

o    Provides insights, analysis and support to the Regional Market Strategy process

o    Works closely with our Revenue Services team throughout the month and during the month end close to ensure alignment on priorities and understanding of billing issues

o    Responsible for all aspects of pricing and related controls and processes including:

  • Manages the process for Special Pricing requests, provides approvals and ensures compliance with all Corporate Pricing guidelines, policies and the Family Pricing Tool
  • Works with Sales Support to ensure all Pricing updates are completed accurately and in a timely manner within the Billing system
  • Works with Sales Support to ensure pricing loaded into the system agrees to the customer contract

o    Regularly interacts with Regional and National legal and compliance teams to ensure we are following appropriate processes and guidance for customer agreements

o    Enforces the Company’s authorization matrix as appropriate

o    Acts as a liaison between internal and external auditors and the commercial and customer solutions/support functions

o    Acts as a Business Partner to the Sales and Customer Operations team with respect to customer transition and onboarding

o    Monitors test utilization in line with contract to ensure account profitability is in line with original estimates and avoid downstream errors and subsequent retro pricing adjustments

o    Interfaces with Corporate Planning and Analysis group

o    All other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

•         Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

•         MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred

•         Approx. 10+ years of experience of professional accounting/finance experience

•         Direct supervisory experience strongly preferred

•         Self-motivated to “make a difference” and deliver Actions that drive Insights

•         Capable of deploying and articulating strategic solutions to prospective business opportunities

•         Demonstrates a strong knowledge of operational and financial processes and practical application of financial and strategic analysis

•         Strong Microsoft Excel skills necessary

•         Must be comfortable summarizing large amounts of data
