Position Description

Serve as the Finance Business Partner of Business Leaders for Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Global Markets and Pharma & Diagnostics Solutions business units, managing multiple financial and administrative functions and partnering with Finance and Accounting Centers of Excellence to ensure effective finance support. 

The incumbent in this position will act as a single point of contact for the business divisions. They will drive alignment and synergies between CMO, Global Markets and Pharma Diagnostics Solutions and focus on enabling business growth and ensuring strong accounting controls

In support of these departments, the individual will interact with two SMT members (Carrie Eglinton Manner and Jay Wohlgemuth). In addition, they will partner with the General Manager for Pharma & Diagnostics Solutions.

Reporting into this position will be the Global Markets Finance team and a Financial Analyst supporting CMO.

They will also interact with the Clinical Franchise Finance team. 

Job Accountabilities

  • Responsible of financial function of assigned Business Units, while ensuring accuracy of financial reporting and integrity of the control environment.

  • Provide Business insights on the business units performance by identifying and driving best practices for revenue growth and cost containment.

  • Actively participate on review and prioritize growth initiatives based on financial returns.

  • Manage initiatives for process improvements to drive efficiency and profitability, to deliver the highest quality at the lower cost.

  • Managing functions such as: Internal control, financial analysis of investment projects, execution of budget of the business units.

  • Hire and develop finance personnel within each function.

  • Serve as liaison between the business units and corporate functions, especially centers of excellence/Shared Services including but not limited to Centralized Accounting, Revenue Control, Financial Planning and Analyst, Pricing and Business development.

Authority

The Finance Director hold the authority to make independent financial decisions, as well as authority to expend resources and sign contracts on the company´s behalf. Additionally, have the authority to hire, fire, increase salary of subordinates, and assign work to subordinates.

This position will directly supervise 4 employees within the finance department including a Finance Director and a Finance Analysts.

The position will require being located in SJC, California.  In addition, there may be limited travel as needed.
