Position Description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive awareness of Quest Diagnostics Employer Solutions offerings based on deep understanding of the customer. S/He will lead marketing efforts for Employer Solutions team, including development of marketing strategies and annual plan, incorporating insights from Executive/Senior Director, Customer Marketing, Business Leaders, Clinical Franchises and Regions.

The position reports to the Executive Director, Marketing and will be based in Lenexa, KS.


•                     Lead and supervise marketing efforts of team members according to timing and budget expectations

•                     Maintain strong level of insight into the customer’s core business drivers

•                     Distill customer data and analytics into highly effective campaigns and other deliverables

•                     Provide voice of customer into the strategic planning process

•                     Have clear understanding of customer industry trends and drivers, as well as competitive landscape, to inform strategic marketing initiatives across target customer segments

•                     Develop and implement customer-specific strategic marketing plan including tactical programming recommendations and investment requirements to maximize opportunities that yield measurable ROI

•                     Coach and oversee professional development of team members

•                     Provide guidance and serve as thought leader for internal business partners

•                     Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and organize them efficiently

•                     Plan and execute campaigns related to new and existing products and solutions for target customer channel

•                     Direct market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements

•                     Control budgets and allocate resources across projects


•         Bachelor’s Degree, Business degree preferred

•         5+ years healthcare industry experience preferred; Minimum 10+ years success in a B2B marketing role

•         Direct people leadership experience preferred

•         Up to 50% business travel required

•         Team oriented – ability to lead diverse, cross functional teams and in a matrix environment

•         Excellent project leadership skills to ensure execution

•         Superior communication skills including ability to deliver formal business presentations to executive leadership

•         Initiative – ability to independently problem solve and find resolutions
