Job Summary

As a senior direct report to the Vice President Finance, Enterprise Operations & IT, this leadership role has full ownership and responsibility for driving Finance Process Excellence in our Regional Operations, as well as providing Finance Business Partnering support with respect to Capital and Procurement activities throughout the organization.

This leadership role will be accountable for developing and deploying a finance process excellence strategy within the Company’s Regional Operations.  The strategy is expected to cover not just activities with respect to operations / operating costs and expenses, but also through collaboration with other finance and commercial business partnering teams / roles, overall management of processes to drive value creation.

This leadership role will be responsible for re-designing and ultimately managing the Company’s capital budgeting, forecasting, and reporting / management processes.  This includes but is not limited to collaborating with the Enterprise Resource Prioritization Council (ERPC) (or similar governance process at the SMT level) and related finance support teams, to ensure alignment with respect to processes and decision making as it relates to overall capital management prioritization and deployment processes for the Enterprise within established targets.  This role will actively participate in the annual target setting process for capital across the Enterprise.

In addition, this leadership role is responsible for re-designing and ultimately managing the finance business partnering support to the Procurement organization, which is responsible for, among other things, delivering cost efficiencies, supporting Operations Excellence and Invigorate initiatives and driving procurement and supply chain process improvements.

Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities)

1.      Lead the development and deployment a finance process excellence strategy within the Company’s Regional Operations. The strategy is expected to cover not just activities with respect to operations / operating costs and expenses, but also through collaboration with other finance and commercial business partnering teams / roles, overall management of processes to drive value creation.

2.      Organize, deploy and manage best practice teams focused on enhancing processes, people skillsets and technology to enable business partnering finance support, while eliminating waste and redundancy.  This includes but is not limited to projects focused on roles and responsibilities amongst the various COEs (both within and outside of finance that are focused on providing business decision making support within the Company’s Regional Operations).

3.      Lead efforts to redesign the Company’s capital budgeting, forecasting, and reporting / management processes. This includes but is not limited to collaborating with the Enterprise Resource Prioritization Council (ERPC) (or similar governance process at the SMT level) and related finance support teams, to ensure alignment with respect to processes and decision making as it relates to overall capital management prioritization and deployment processes for the Enterprise within established targets.  This role will actively participate in the annual target setting process for capital across the Enterprise.

4.      Refresh the processes surrounding requests for Capital, including the approval process. Develop and maintain SOP’s, standardized templates and tools related to CAPEX requests.  Proactively engage in development activities within Shared Services regarding the underlying financial reporting systems (current and prospective systems) to ensure that reporting requirements and related analysis can be met in an effective and efficient manner.

5.      Lead a group of professionals who will proactively collaborate with CAPEX sponsors and Regional and/or Procurement counter-parts to i) develop the business case for CAPEX requests, including the preparation of standardized templates and underlying analysis inclusive of accumulating appropriate supporting documentation and assumptions; and ii) ensure CAPEX requests are approved on a timely basis.

6.      Drive the development and maintenance of processes to monitor actual spend against approved CAPEX, including distribution of standardized reporting and analysis.  Develop processes to forecast and budget CAPEX, including forecasting and budgeting related impacts on results of operations and cash flows.

7.      Lead the re-design and ultimately manage the finance business partnering support to the Procurement organization developing the processes, people skill sets and technology requirements that enable / support business decision making and value creation.

8.      Lead a group of professionals who will proactively collaborate (on an on-going basis) with the Procurement organization to i) develop the business case and models to analyze the economics of various new procurement initiatives, including the preparation of standardized templates and underlying analysis inclusive of accumulating appropriate supporting documentation and assumptions; (ii) partner with Sourcing managers and provide active finance support for vendor negotiations; and iii) ensure that any necessary approvals are executed on a timely basis.

9.      Drive the development and maintenance of processes to monitor, report and assess actual spending trends and performance against established targets / expectations, including distribution of standardized reporting and analysis to various stakeholders both within and outside of Procurement.  Develop processes to inform forecasting and budgeting processes to further enhance forecast accuracy.

10.  Consistently hire, manage and develop top talent to build and develop high performing teams of professionals through developing functional expertise within the group, providing challenging opportunities to gain additional knowledge of our business, and rotating team members. Job Specifications

•         A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

•         MBA or CPA preferred

•         Approx. 12 +  years’ experience of professional accounting/finance experience

•         Demonstrates a strong knowledge of operational and financial processes and practical application of financial and strategic analysis
