Spec, Satellite Ops Training & Site Implementation - Flint, MI - Monday-Friday

Job Summary:

The Satellite Operations Training and Site Implementation Supervisor plans, organizes, schedules, and directs the implementation of new satellite laboratories, including high, moderate, and waived testing locations. The supervisor works in conjunction with Sales, Patient Services, and Logistics to ensure client satisfaction and is responsible for instrumentation implementation, LIS testing, validations, and training of satellite operations staff. The supervisor is responsible for performing training and routine competency for both satellite operations medical technologists and Point-of-Care testing phlebotomy staff. The supervisor assists the Satellite Operations Supervisor and Manager in ensuring compliance with all regulations both externally and internally for new and existing testing locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Manages and oversees a comprehensive training program for all satellite operations staff across all locations in the region, both waived and non-waived testing locations.

2.      Manages the 6 month and annual competencies for all satellite operations staff, and ensures competencies are completed prior to their due date.

3.      Ensures accurate and complete documentation of all training and competency activities in the electronic training and competency documentation system.

4.      Notifies the Satellite Operations Supervisor/Manager in the event of unsuccessful performance of competency assessments. Completes required re-training of staff as required.

5.      Responsible for the opening and implementation of new testing locations, both waived and non-waived testing sites.

6.      Ensures proper instrument validations, LIS testing, staff training, and CLIA compliance for the startup of new RRL and POC locations.

7.      Remains competent on all testing platforms across the region’s satellite operations network.

8.      Assists the Satellite Operations Supervisor for CAP survey entry and laboratory oversight, as needed.

9.      Covers PTO/vacation days for med techs across the region, as needed.

10.   Manages SOP rollouts and training updates. Ensures each testing location has appropriate SOPs loaded into the electronic document control system with localized versions.

11.   Assists the Satellite Operations Supervisors/Manager in pulling data for routine quality control review.

12.   Ensures adherence to compliance guidelines.

13.   Completes special projects or assignments as requested.

Qualifications:

Education Preferred:

BS MT or equivalent

Work Experience:

5+ years

Other:

Experience in a laboratory environment.

Must travel frequently: 50-75%

Rapid Response Laboratory experience helpful.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Meets the CLIA qualifications of a Technical Consultant

and Technical Supervisor.
