Pricing Analyst - Pricing Operations (Hybrid)

Basic Purpose:

The general purpose of this position is to assist in the bidding process of Quest Diagnostic's Hospital Business clients. The individual is responsible for mapping client test codes to Nichols or Affiliate billing systems, mapping competitor test codes to Nichols' billing system, proposing pricing in accordance with pricing guidelines and Marketing & Sales objectives, and evaluating pricing profitability.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Provide analysis support to the sales functional:

a.     Support Quest Diagnostic's Hospital Business through pricing and profitability analyses with an emphasis on retaining profitable customers and gaining new ones.

b.     Perform simple to moderately complex test code mapping, which may include any combination of client, Nichols Institute San Juan Capistrano and Chantilly, QBS, Affiliate lab decentralized sites, and competitors.

c.     Support Corporate and the Hospital Business with pricing analyses regarding various types of business opportunities.

2.     Provide analysis support to the Finance function:

a.     Provide analytical support for special projects or other assignments at the Controller's request.

b.     Complete all pricing proposal support activities accurately and assist the account representative in coordinating changes with the billing department.

c.     Encourage and support efforts by the account representatives to review and revise old pricing.

3.     Due to the variety of duties and responsibilities and the wide array of individual seeking analytical support (often with customer-driven deadlines), required working hours may not always conform to a typical work week.

Qualifications:

Education:

•         Bachelor's degree in Science, Arts or Business Administration. (MBA preferred, but not required)

Work Experience:

•         Two years of experience in financial analysis, revenue or profitability analysis

Other:

•         Proficient in Excel problem solving skills and Access database management skills; analytical ability; planning and organization skills (including the ability to manage multiple priorities of multiple customers while exhibiting flexibility and teamwork);

•         Exceptional communication skills (needed to convey the quantitative results of analyses to users at all levels of the BU and Sales organizations); and the ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.

•         Exceptional interpersonal skills (needed to build and maintain strategic relationships with all levels of the BU and Sales organizations).
