Job Description

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Network POCT Manager in Vineland, NJ.

Monday though Friday, 1st shift

The POCT Manager has the overall responsibility for the planning, evaluation and implementing point of care devices and testing throughout the hospitals and health centers.  Also conducts training sessions for POCT operators.  Responsible for performing duties to ensure accurate test results that can be used in clinical decision making by non-laboratory personnel. Responsible for maintaining the POCT program in the highest quality, safety and integrity, and in an efficient, economical manner meeting all CLIA, CAP, DNV and State regulatory requirements.


  • Plans, assigns, and directs work for POCT across the network.
  • Identifies and implements training programs as necessary.
  • Performs reagent verification, calibration verification, and linearity of POCT instruments, for both waived and moderately complex testing.
  • Defines, coordinates, and monitors quality assurance programs as pertains to POCT testing. Ensures quality control and compliance procedures are followed and QC reports are up to date. Oversee plans and preparations for inspections.
  • Identifies future needs in terms of staff, equipment, and facilities. Submits appropriate documentation for procurement of such.
  • Reviews test performance, drives process and project management, and prepares and submits required reports to meet established deadlines.
  • Ensures departmental standard operating procedures and database accurately reflects the current process.
  • Manages department costs and resources to adhere to budget.
  • Resolves problems through interaction with clients via phone calls or other means of communication.
  • Provides technical expertise and consultation to healthcare providers and other contacts.


Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science. ASCP certification required.

Work Experience:

  • 4 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital setting
  • 2 years of direct supervisory experience in the clinical laboratory
