This professional will work on-site at Lafayette, CA.

Quest Diagnostics funds a health plan that provides healthcare benefits to over 60,000 employees and dependents. The successful applicant will work as part of a team responsible for analyzing health plan costs, use trends, quality of care, practice pattern variation, and other performance metrics.  The position will also provide analytical support to general Chief Medical Officer Group projects as needed. 

Health Data Analyst, the role:

  • Analyze health plan performance in terms of costs and clinical effectiveness versus benchmarks
  • Develops methods for consistency and validity checking to assure accurate results
  • Maintains data management process documentation as part of routine QA.
  • Write analysis plans and portions of methods and results sections for manuscripts and reports
  •  Contribute to improved report design by working with users to identify reporting needs
  •  Gather and prepare data for analysis by others
  •  Prepare timely, accurate ad hoc reports and updates to periodic reports.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

•         BS in a science, technology, engineering, or math field

•         Good understanding of programming concepts and proficient in at least one programming language

•         Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

•         Understands basic statistical methods

•         Experience analyzing data, ideally healthcare claims data or health outcome data

•         Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

•         Ideally, has proficiency with Tableau, SQL, and Alteryx or similar tools
