Basic Purpose: Technical Product Manager 

This position will play a key role in sustaining profitable business growth by effectively managing a suite of existing and future products, services and connectivity solutions.    The candidate will serve as the technical product champion (defining personas, user scenarios, technical and resource requirements and  establishing plans for research and  development), technical expert (being the primary resource for technical product, service and connectivity questions) and technical manager (negotiating what gets delivered). The candidate must possess the ability to convert qualitative and quantitative analysis, and an understanding of the market problems and its customers into technical strategies and directions that build the employer solution business and deliver profitable growth. 

Core accountabilities:
Acts as point of contact on customer technical needs and product/service requirements. The Technical Product Manager shall define the buying process, buyer personas, user personas, user scenarios for targeted markets.
Provides assistance in customer presentations and discussions.Represents a shared customer and business unit vision with respect to future direction and planning for the product.
Conduct regular competitive technical/product/services assessments and provide detailed analysis of the competitors’ products, services and connectivity solutions and includes SWOT information.
Publishes quarterly internal product, service and connectivity roadmaps with a regularly updated dashboard provide project completion status
Collects and writes product/service requirements from the business unit, customers and other stakeholders in preparation of each new development cycle. Acts as a liaison between development and the customer to assist in User Interface Design or service process interaction.Coordinates and/or resolves product/service definition issues as related to market requirements or product design.
Collaborates with the operations manager to approve and coordinate final product/service release based on results of testing and attainment of planned product/release requirements.Creates and distributes Product/Service Release Notes after production releases. Monitors product/service acceptance based on input from client services.
Consolidates requests and ideas from within the business unit so that a single unified direction can be communicated into development.Manages priorities for all requests/projects for product.
Collaborates with other product managers to ensure coordination across products/service.
Acts as a knowledge resource for Product Marketing in preparation of supporting sales materials.
Conduct partner technical assessments and provides SWOT analysis of proposed solutions.
Develops and delivers a system of innovation to include clients, trade publications/information, industry thought leaders, partners and other industry solutions.
Monitors new and proposed regulatory requirements.
Coordinates pilot and Beta site activities, where applicable.
Responds to the needs and requests of clients, management and staff in a professional and expedient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Researches, isolates and assesses the value and potential of new market solutions. products and capabilities for the assigned product solutions based on needs expressed by Sales, clients and prospects, competitive offerings and insights, opportunities identified internally, research of publicly available data, and marketplace trends, and develops the business case for those with strong brand fit and potential for success to ensure a pipeline of solutions that ensure the continued success of the brand, and its clients and participants.
Completes product plans to bring new solutions and revisions to existing solutions to market, including defining their value propositions, pricing, promotional requirements, delivery models, impacts and solutions, segment- and channel-specific customizations, as well as defining product scope, development timelines, milestones, key stakeholders and contributors, success metrics, and resource requirements necessary to achieve the objectives associated with their successful introductions.
Helps prioritizes the efforts of cross-functional, product development and delivery contributors including staff, IT, Clinical and Client Operations, Sales, Finance, Marketing, 3rd party vendors, and others to convert information, process capability and staff expertise into marketable services through traditional product development techniques and processes, including ideation, prototyping, concept development and evaluation and confirmatory research.Holds primary accountability for delivery of new products and capabilities on agreed upon timelines and within approved budgets.
Works closely with brand marketing and marketing communication leaders to successfully commercialize and target product/capability solutions and drive the development of advertising and promotional messages and tactics that convey the value proposition effectively and deliver to the Integrated Marketing Calendar.
Completes annual product category plans that identify efforts to launch, grow, harvest and pare solutions in the incumbent’s portfolio, and provides strategic inputs to support the development of annual marketing, operations and sales planning efforts.
Contributes to broader business initiatives, including strategic planning efforts, financial analyses, business development and major growth initiatives.
Using advanced skills in PowerPoint and superior written and oral presentation skills, crafts persuasive messages and the competitive advantages of Quest Diagnostics to customers, strategic partners and senior Quest Diagnostics management.

Education Preferred: BA/BS required or equivalent experience.  Masters of Business Administration strongly preferred.
