Basic Purpose:

Finance business partner to the Information Ventures organization with direct interaction with organizational leaders at VP and Director level and others throughout supported organizations.  Main duties include data analytics and financial modeling to support month end close process, business reviews, forecasts, annual budgeting process and other moderate to complex financial analysis projects. Also include support cost responsibilities for the business.


Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Business partnering - Engage Senior level staff regularly to influence the business from a financial perspective.  This person will be asked to understand the business needs and the drivers of revenue and cost, and speak to them with senior leaders
  • Financial modeling – develop financial models to understand business impact of decisions and scenarios.  An understanding of and relationship with the business are key to quickly and accurately modeling its performance.  These are needed on an ad hoc basis as well as regularly around month-end, budgets and forecasts.  
  • Month-end reporting - Enhance value-added monthly reporting package, incorporating run rate analyses, for the business leaders that will drive behavior. Provide analysis to Senior leadership team to update on trends, watch-outs, issues, and drive actions to ensure appropriate behavior.
  • Budget/Forecast development – Be engaged and drive certain aspects of annual budgeting cycle and quarterly forecast through business review, analytics, business partering at all levels of the business, etc.
  • Support Cost responsibilities - Perform month-end close activities including close process supporting / understanding JE activity by Corporate Accounting, and preparing monthly reporting packages with value-added insight for Information Ventures.  Ensure controls are in place to appropriately account for and safeguard assets and maintain compliance with Company policy and procedures and enforce compliance.

Qualifications:


Education Preferred:

  • 4-Year College Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA preferred

Work Experience:

• Related Finance Experience a plus.

• Financial analysis and modeling, budgeting/forecasting, month-end reporting, accounting

• Experience with the PeopleSoft Financial Systems and Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning a plus

  • Strong competencies including Problem Solving, Analytics & Customer Focus
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel and Access tools.
