Basic Purpose:

 Develop and support integration solutions.  This includes working through the full development life cycle including analysis, specification, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.  Works with lead integration engineer and directly with customers to understand and develop solutions using the appropriate technologies and make technical and business recommendations that fit customer needs.  Also provides mentoring for other integration engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Work extensively with lead custom solutions engineer and client to gather specifications for integration of ChartMaxx and the client information system.
-Use the specifications to design customer facing integration solutions using the appropriate tools.
-Implement integration solutions with customers assuring successful integration of ChartMaxx with the client information systems.
-Make architectural decisions and implement overall solutions for the ChartMaxx customer-facing platforms.
-Develop tools and utilities for the integration platforms.
-Mentoring of new team members, particularly on technology-related aspects.
-Quality assurance of project deliverables.
-Learn new technologies and how to apply them to solve integration problems for customers.

Education Preferred:

Knowledge and skills at a level acquired through the completion of a BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. 

Work Experience:

Four years working experience in a software technology field.

-Oracle, MySQL
-HL7, XML
-Perl Scripting Language
-Healthcare integration / interface experience
-TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP(S)
-Java / Web Services
-Unix (1-2 years of experience)
-Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain high level of confidentiality
-Superior listening and problem resolution skills
-Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
-Ability to use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
-Self-directed, reliable, with considerable initiative
-Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff and customers.
-Ability to interact well with users, technical staff and management at all levels within Quest Diagnostics and customer organizations. 
-Demonstrated aptitude and desire for learning new technologies.
-Experience with middleware applications preferred.
-Ability to manage development efforts across multiple customers.
