Senior Compliance Analyst, Audit – the role:

 

The Senior Compliance Analyst is responsible for proactively monitoring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, policy directives and ethical requirements for Quest Diagnostics lines of business through audit.  This includes a comprehensive review of the application of Compliance policies and procedures in the business units and corporate functions to identify gaps, issues and risks associated with non-compliance.

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Perform lead auditor responsibilities, which include coordinating all aspects of the audit process, including risk assessment discussions, communicating with the laboratory/region/function (including opening and closing meetings), directing the audit team through the audit, compiling the preliminary audit report, working with the laboratory/region/function to remediate all findings and reporting status updates by the end of each month
  • Perform assigned audit protocols for all scheduled audits in a timely manner and working with the policy guardian(s) and functional owners to evaluate and update audit protocols on an ongoing basis
  • Perform specialized audits and special projects as needed
  • Work with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives as needed

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

 

  • B.S. Degree in business, accounting or related field, or equivalent
  • 7+ years in the clinical laboratory or healthcare environment
  • Thorough knowledge of and application of compliance policies and procedures and impact of potential violations
  • Understanding of federal and state fraud and abuse laws and regulations or the ability to learn them
  • Experience in fact finding, analysis and problem solving in order to make appropriate recommendations
  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to prioritize activities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously while meeting goals within established time deadlines
  • Technical competency including Excel, Word, Outlook, QDSS, QBS, and QLS
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and root cause identification skills to develop appropriate resolutions to improve processes 
  • Excellent decision quality, negotiation, communications and networking skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a virtual team environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with colleagues within Compliance and in other departments
  • Ability to travel domestically 4-5 times/year
