The Role

The Senior Director, Cybersecurity Incident Response and Threat Intelligence will be responsible for continuously monitoring and maintaining threat intelligence proactively as well as working across the enterprise to conduct frequent tabletop exercises.  As part of driving the creation of the strategic plan and execution, this role will also oversee and manage a team to harvest vetted threat intelligence from both public and private sector, use probability/impact analysis, conduct threat hunting, and protect Quest Diagnostics.


The candidate should have proven track record of coordinating strategic plan development and implementing processes which enable teams to execute during cyber incidents. The role also requires the individual to be a highly skilled communicator.  Outcomes directed by this role have a significant impact on the organization's short- and long-term results.

·       Design, Implement, and maintain Cybersecurity Incident Management Plan (CSIRP)

·       Design and implement an automated threat intelligence platform to harvest and rate various threats received both from subscribed private and public sector relationships.

·       Knowledge and experience in developing threat modelling using standards as well as penetration testing and vulnerability management.

·       Presents and communicates strategic threat intelligent process and business benefits at all levels of the organization to positively influence key stakeholders.

·       Develops execution plans and manages risks and mitigations relative to the strategic plan, select strategic initiatives and organization effectiveness programs.

·       Develop close relationships with forensics and legal stakeholders to validate the CSIRP.

·       Leads a cross functional team in the planning and execution of technology strategy and planning workshops.

·       Oversees and continually assesses the long-term health, including the on-going evolution of interoperability capabilities and strategic use of vendor partners in coordination with product, engineering and operations teams.

·       Collaborates effectively with Data Protection and Cyberdefense Operations team to provide continuous input and help protect Quest data.

·       Establish continuous monitoring of Quest Diagnostics within and outside networks including social media to identify any potential threats and take preventive measure.

·       Fosters a culture of automation and the use of digital capabilities that improve customer experience, operational performance, resource efficiency, and solution availability.


·       Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Incident Response, preferably in Healthcare Information Technology. With proficiency in strategy, operations, and change management.

·       Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, business management, or equivalent experience

·       Experience developing and implementing Penetration testing plans for both applications and infrastructure through Red teaming.

·       Previous Law enforcement experience or equivalent in maintaining and managing Cybersecurity Incident Response Planning is preferable.

·       Experience developing and implementing Penetration testing plans for both applications and infrastructure through Red teaming.

·       Ability to foster teamwork by actively participating in and supporting an environment that cultivates professional growth and organizational effectiveness.

·       Program Management, Project Management, Agile experience

·       Able to think strategically and manage multiple projects, under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.  Participates in the development of the strategic information technology plan, processes, and solutions, recommending strategies and processes that support the direction of the company.

·       Demonstrated ability to develop effective and ongoing relationships with Peer levels of the internal customer organizations.

·       Must have proven ability to deliver and support IT projects and organizations in a rapidly changing business climate. 

·       Strong understanding of Infrastructure Services, Processes, and Technologies.

·       Proven ability to analyze budgets and proposals to identify value opportunities and negotiate best outcomes.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to write proposals and whitepapers, act as a vendor liaison, deliver presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers, and work closely with management across HTAS and the organization as necessary.

·       Requires sound technological judgment and an enthusiasm for innovation tempered with a pragmatic assessment of the possible.

·       Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation.

·       Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

·       Must have proven ability to deliver and support IT projects and organizations in a rapidly changing business climate.

·       Continually develops staff and self with a Digital mindset and keeping the HTAS capabilities in mind.

People Leader Responsibility

Manage and lead team by example, collaborate with business and corporate functions as well as third-party providers to be a resilient organization. In addition, this is a matrixed supervisory role which will drive coordination across the entire Healthcare Solutions and Interoperability organization. Will stand up core teams for critical initiatives and will lead matrixed teams to drive programs to completion and ongoing execution (e.g., budget management, OKR development and management, etc.).
