Sr. Tax Accountant II (Hybrid)
The Sr. Tax Accountant II is responsible for most complex activities and meaningful analysis. Owns large projects or bodies of work. Provides coaching, mentoring and supervision over lower-level tax accountants and/or clerks. Drive process improvement and serves as subject matter expert.
- Assist and manage design and implementation of Project Mint (formation of new procurement company structure)
- Lead and manage Tax and Accounting requirements for the Procurement company structure on a monthly and annual basis
- Reconciliation of all results each month from vendor flow to operating companies
- Manage and implement any changes required for new products, SKUs, vendors and other key changes to the procurement company
- Ensure all journal entries are reconciled each month – resolve any out of balance items quickly and raise any unresolved issues up to management
- Review all invoices to make sure all intercompany flows are contained in the intercompany invoicing each month
- Manage and implement additional vendor/intercompany flows that will be added to the Procurement company structure
- Ensure accurate, timely analysis of reconciliations including Blackline
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
- Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects
- Mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
Required Work Experience:
- 8+ years of hands-on tax experience
- 10+ years of hands-on Indirect Tax experience
- Public accounting background is a plus
Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of applicable accounting software (e.g. CorpTax, Peoplesoft, Nvision, etc.)
Skills:
- Ability to multi-task with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Interpersonal skills to work with various associates, third parties and outside departments
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
Certified Public Accountant (Preferred)
