Purpose of the Role

Design, develop and deliver superior analytics and reporting solutions to support Finance, Franchise, Commercial, and other key business functions. Manage the revenue data warehouse self service Cognos reporting environment (QDSS) by implementing prioritized requests and keeping reporting objects up to date relative to database changes and system upgrades. Provide customer training and support. Partner cross functionally to anticipate customer analytics needs,  design and deliver using a variety of business intelligence technologies.

Responsibility Areas

•Maintain Cognos reports and packages via Framework Manager, SQL and Report Studio
•Develop and implement customer reports and dashboards
•Gather and document customer requirements and develop design specifications
•Define and develop processes to support required analytics outcomes which may include data gathering and preparation, extract transform and load processes, and database  design.
•Coordinate efforts with database developers and administrators to troubleshoot system and performance issues
•Create and execute Unit and System Test Plans to ensure quality

Accountabilities

•Provide concise and comprehensive technical documentation, including Design Specifications according to the Agile Project Execution Process (PEP) used by Quest Diagnostics 
•Contribute to the continued improvement of analytics development by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions
•Develop and support deployment of key controls and SOPs for area of responsibility
•Develop analyses to support customer needs and reinforce users’ understanding of data and reporting tools
•Provide End User Training for analytics and reporting self service features

Critical Know How and Skills

•Strong development knowledge with Cognos and/or Tableau:

requirements gathering, data source modeling, design standards, using parameters to optimize queries, performance testing.

•Strong Oracle 12c on Exadata experience including; tables design, stored procedures, expertise using complex SQL and PL/SQL. Good knowledge of relational   database structures   and table relationships.
•Experience in Business Intelligence including development and maintenance of Star Schema database models
•Experience with cloud-based data warehouse technologies.
•Experience generating estimates for project planning, including task breakdown & level of effort.
•Knowledge of Quest Diagnostics billing and revenue data a plus

Education

Bachelor of Science or equivalent

•5-7 years of business experience in analytics
•Strong Customer Focus, Analytical Skills, Problem Solving 
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
•Strong PC skills (Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
