Job Description

Basic Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Laboratory General Supervisor is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that health screenings and venous blood draws are completed accurately and on time. The Laboratory General Supervisor also ensures quality control checks on all equipment used in the onsite clinic. Maintain a safe and professional environment for clients and employees; perform with confidence all aspects of a health screening, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform biometric screening at client sites including finger stick or venipuncture blood collection, BMI, Blood Pressure and other health screening services based on service package
  • Performs QC testing on all equipment for proper functioning and calibrations to ensure accuracy of results.
  • Performs basic waived testing technical procedures on blood samples and completes required quality control.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all health screenings.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and legible records.
  • Participates in training/retraining and continuing education programs as necessary.
  • Complies with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including the use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agents.
  • Understands and complies with applicable federal, state and local laws. Adheres to quality assurance procedures and good manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain all HIPAA and OSHA standards while on events.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Specialty Technologist, Medical Technologist or qualifying degree from an accredited university

Valid State of Nevada license as a General Supervisor

Work Experience:

At least 3 years of experience working in a licensed laboratory.


  • Proficient with finger sticks, venous blood draw and manual blood pressure.
  • Ability to understand and perform complex procedures and techniques and work with complex instrumentation (Cholestech and/ or Cardio Check experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment calibration requirements and techniques.
  • Skills required for proper specimen and reagent handling, labeling, processing, preparation, transportation and storage necessary.
  • Must be knowledgeable of required regulations and comply with them.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow detailed procedures.
  • Basic computer skills necessary including access to internet / email.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Pleasant and friendly, yet professional personality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects. The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 40 pounds may be lifted and carried occasionally. Objects exceeding 41 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.

Job Requirements

  • Receiving larger materials such as aluminum and metal and assembling frames
  • Demonstrate the required education and experience
  • Determine most effective routings for a variety of service levels to meet customer needs
  • Inspect inbound freight shipment arrivals to ensure proper documentation
  • Provide review and input on new construction and projects
  • Manage and/or oversee intra and inter departmental projects
  • Use strong leadership skills to effectively manage, train, and mentor Coordinators directly to meet goals and expectations
  • Analyze and enhance inventory management, procedures, shrink reduction methods, perpetual system accuracy and the physical inventory process
  • Cleared US Customs before put on route for delivery
  • Prepare recurring journal entries and review entries prepared by accounting staff
  • Developing new programs and executing established plans to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Develop and direct implementation of broad departmental strategies, ensuring alignment with Division and Company strategies
  • Supervise site activities for JCI resources with a group of subcontractors on large projects of $1M in cost
  • Delivering safe and timely public transportation service through the safe operation of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) commercial passenger busses on scheduled routes
  • Provide employees coaching and training on job assignments, standards, and customer service by demonstrating correct work procedures and SOP
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and requirements, including but not limited to OSHA rules
  • Champion a consultative and customer focused environment to help ensure are providing the best products and services to consistently meet needs
  • Support the One Day Quote program for the service center
  • Perform other related duties and tasks
  • Ensure subcontractors readily understand expectations of the project
