Position Description

This is a critical leadership role on the Enterprise Operations Team that is foundational to Quest’s strategy of Accelerating Growth and Driving Operational Excellence. The core purpose of this role is two-fold: to lead the company’s Invigorate Program which aims to achieve cost efficiencies of at least 3% per year Enterprise-wide, and secondly to be the over-arching leader for Quest’s Order to Cash processes which leads process innovation and standardization that spans Idea-to-Market, Market-to-Order and Order-to-Cash. Through matrix and influential leadership, he/she will deliver improvement in operating margin each year and will lead Operations Excellence Process Owners to design new standard processes that lead to lower cost and a better customer experience.

Responsibilities

Invigorate Program Executive:

 Lead the Invigorate Program Office sustaining success on existing flagship programs as well as work with the teams to identify additional/new improvement opportunities

 Design and operationalize team charters, clearly outlining the scope of work-streams from brainstorming through to execution and achievement of financial and other milestones; will establish/maintain a regular cadence with the team, holding work stream leads accountable for results and will report out achievements, issues and risks to senior management on a regular basis. He/she is responsible for the overall project health of the initiative.

 Motivate the teams, identifying major opportunities, bringing challenging discussions to bear in order to remove roadblocks, facilitate alignment and achieve business results

 Develop a roadmap for change management and communications of initiatives

 Lead and act as an ambassador for transformation, cost excellence and process excellence across the company enabling operational excellence, superior customer experience, and growth

 Manage dependencies with other enterprise programs

 Define metrics that measure success and support efforts to drive accountability

Process Leader for Order to Cash:

 Lead the Process Innovation and Standardization team as part of the Drive Operational Excellence Initiative that spans Idea to Market, Market to Order, and Order to Cash. Motivate and inspire a small team of dedicated and extended team members to oversee the process standardization and re-design.

 Work directly with each of the Operational Excellence leaders that span order to cash (Patient Services, Logistics, Lab Operations, Customer Service, Billing) to define a new standard process architecture / work-flow that leads to step-function improvements in quality, cost, and customer satisfaction. Co-lead the Revenue Cycle Management hoshin.

 With the IT Leadership team, define the system requirements, timing and expense to upgrade / improve our current systems to enable the new workflow

 Define the overall sequencing of workflow changes that will result in simultaneous improvement in cost, quality and customer satisfaction, with an eye towards generating near term cash flow benefits to fund future investments

 With the overall Drive Team, develop an overall approach to "change management" to ensure that the operational resources affected by Program Drive will be engaged and embrace the changes to come

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Education Required: BS or BA

 Education Preferred: MBA or MS

Work Experience:

 15-years work experience successfully managing complex projects and teams, with at least 7 years of process improvement/process standardization (QMS, Six Sigma and/or Lean Continuous Improvement)

 Experience conducting business and/or financial analysis and presenting results and recommendations.

 Strong team leadership skills, including facilitating alignment among key people and programs in a complex business landscape

 Demonstrated influencing and communication skills across multiple levels of organization from front-line to C-Suite senior management.

 Demonstrated ability to execute project plans and drive superior performance by identifying resource needs, defining critical path, managing to milestones, effective problem resolution, managing inter-dependencies, and driving for results.

 Excellent communication skills: e-mail, memos, conference calls, meetings and formal presentations. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
