Women’s Reproductive Health

Quest Diagnostics is a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, research and consultation for women's health disorders across the continuum of a woman's life. The company's specialized services include genetic prenatal carrier tests for diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy, cystic fibrosis and Fragile X; cervical cancer and sexually transmitted disease testing; and pregnancy-related genetic counseling for clinicians and parents. The company's scientists also produce original research on women's health issues published in peer-reviewed journals and at scientific conferences.

Quest Diagnostics is believed to be the first laboratory company with national operations and a full menu of Pap, HPV and biopsy cervical cancer tests to offer a testing service based on the TERC marker, affording physicians and patients with broad access in the United States. The new test builds on the company's growing menu of advanced molecular tests for cervical cancer. In early 2012, the company began to offer testing services to identify E6/E7 messenger RNA to help physicians identify women infected with HPV who may have a significantly increased risk of cervical cancer.



Position Description

 

The Director, Clinical Segment Marketing (WRH) will be the primary marketing lead for the Clinical Franchise (CF). Clinical Segments could include any one or more of the following areas in Women’s and Reproductive Health: reproductive health includes preconception, prenatal and postnatal testing such as carrier screening to maternal serum screening to inherited conditions, and gynecological health includes cervical cancer screening, and sexually transmitted diseases such as Chlamydia (CT), Gonorrhea (NG), and Trichomonas.

The Director will develop marketing insights and strategic marketing plans to fulfill Franchise priorities; drive execution through collaboration with Customer and Regional teams; liaise with Specialty Sales and participate in Sales Training.



Key Accountabilities include:

 

  • Identify customer and market insights for CF team

  • Track market trends and derive competitive strategy and differentiation by product type

  • Identify region-specific product opportunities and work with regional marketing to assess/address them

  • Ensure translation and representation of CF strategic priorities in Customer Marketing Plans

  • Coordinate with Customer Marketing for positioning CF offerings by customer

  • Sales support content around specific solutions

  • Inform product training

  • Liaise with Specialty Sales Directors

  • Partner with Regional Marketing to deploy product-specific programming

  • Support CF to conduct market need / customer validation analysis by customer type

  • Report progress of marketing plans to CF

  • Drive re-balancing of priorities to meet unexpected needs of CF



Qualifications

 

The successful candidate for Director, Clinical Segment Marketing (WRH) will have the following attributes and/or experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Business degree preferred

  • 5+ years healthcare industry experience preferred; Minimum 10+ years success in a marketing role

  • Preferred areas of healthcare experience include (any one of the following):

    1. Team oriented – ability to lead diverse, cross functional teams and in a matrix environment

    2. Excellent project leadership skills to ensure execution

    3. Superior communication skills including ability to deliver formal business presentations to executive leadership

    4. Initiative – ability to independently problem solve and find resolutions

    5. Superior strategic thinking and analytical skills to synthesize market/customer insights into prioritized marketing opportunities; Strong capabilities in analyzing data to demonstrate quantifiable opportunities or results

    6. Superior marketing capabilities to design marketing strategies and tactics to maximize opportunities to different customer types such as HCP (PCP& OB/Gyn), Hospitals, Patients, and Health Plans.

    7. Up to 30% business travel required
