Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Provides onsite direction/supervision of technical departments under his/her scope of responsibility.  Responsible to maintain acceptable sample workflow, test performance, quality, and productivity levels through oversight of processes and staffing.   Responsible for maintaining compliance to all safety policies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight and planning for the following departments:Molecular Diagnostics, Serology, Clinical Toxicology and Prescription Drug Monitoring (PDM).
Must set the example for demonstrating good safety habits.
Responsible for process changes needed to enhance workflow and improve productivity.
Develops and recommends goals and objectives for technical areas; plans and organizes resources to meet departmental objectives.
Assists department supervisor and group leads with technical decisions and troubleshooting.
Develops, recommends, and oversees the implementation of new instruments, methods, policies, and procedures.
Ensures achievement of performance metrics such as turnaround time, laboratory TNPs, safety, revised reports, or other metrics identified as key to the laboratory’s success.
Ensures that all laboratory activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations, and laws.
Effectively works with Laboratory departments to resolve problems.
Adheres to all Quest Diagnostics values, policies, and compliance regulations.
Perform other job duties as assigned by the Laboratory Operations Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:         
Education: BS in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or Life Sciences related background.
Work Experience:          
At least five years technical experience with at least three years at the departmental supervisory level.
Preferred candidate should have a working knowledge of laboratory testing regarding technical departments and specimen processing.
