Assist Facilities Technician 2 & 3 positions in performing tasks detailed in those respective job descriptions. Develop skills according to capabilities.
Perform General Facility checklist items including.
• Bottled gas handling including replacement, re-order, and tracking.
• Styrofoam container handling.
• HVAC systems and rooftop Preventive Maintenance.
• D.I. Water Systems maintenance and PM.
• DX Air Compressor PM and maintenance.
• Freezer Defrost program.
• Emergency back-up electrical power generator maintenance.
• Walk-in freezer/cooler maintenance.
• R.O. drinking water cooler maintenance.
• General Office area walk-through and maintenance.
• Safety Shower maintenance.
• Assist Facility Department personnel as required.
• Experience painting
Supports applicable regulations including ISO, Local, State, and/or Federal requirements.
• Transports sorted mail and places in appropriate mail slot.
• Transports laboratory glassware between the Reference Lab building and Autoclave in the Diagnostics building.
• Remove records from the laboratory when designated for storage and place in correct sequence in off-site storage.
• Retrieve records from off-site storage as requested.
• Track records due for destruction and notifies the Facilities Supervisor when records are due.
• Perform Facility Checklist items detailed above.
• Excellent communicator with ability to maintain simple spreadsheets.
• Able to push mail cart inside buildings.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Must pass DMV check by insurance company and be able to drive company vehicles.
• Individual must be reliable and responsible.
• Responsible for performing assigned tasks in accordance with applicable safety regulations and instructions, as well as correcting unsafe work habits and practices and/or bringing to the attention of the Safety Team or a supervisor any practice or condition that may be detrimental to the safety and health of the employees.  You also have a responsibility to cooperate in all safety or health-related programs and assist in solving safety and health problems.  Violations of safety directives and procedures will be handled in accordance with the established Company disciplinary process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6-months to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to logically plan and execute tasks to achieve “trade standard” results.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hand to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.  The frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb and balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus and depth perception. 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
