Senior Commercial Analyst, Commercial Excellence


Position Description

The Senior Commercial Excellence Analyst will perform the reporting and projects focused on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Southeast Region. 

In order to respond to the challenges of the role, the successful candidate will need to:

•         Serve as a vital contributor to the report generation, project management and analysis supporting the strategic growth drivers in the region.

•         Possess the skills needed to collect, organize, and manipulate data from numerous sources to provide critical insights.

•         Creates and monitors dashboards to ensure commercial Key Performance Indicators are being met.  Communicates results to Commercial leadership.

•         Provides data and insights to support the Market Strategy sessions.

•         Align with Financial business partners to ensure planning and performance remain in sync.

•         Accumulates local commercial feedback on available tools, processes, etc. and engages Corporate Commercial Excellence on development of improved solutions to drive field engagement and success.

Areas of Responsibility

•         Develops and deploys tools, analysis, and processes to optimize sales effectiveness (Sales Calls, Pipeline, Target/Lead Management, Territory deployment, Product Breadth and Channels, etc.)

•         Analyzes regional data and effectively communicate results to assist in facilitating strategic initiatives and identifying market specific issues/targets.

•         Coordinates and participates on various strategic and operational projects with Corporate Commercial Excellence and Regional Commercial, Marketing, and Strategy and Solutions teams.

•         Facilitates analysis and support of initiatives specific to Health Plan leakage/opportunity, Attrition/At-Risk/EIR, Market Strategy, and Prospect/Growth activity and identification.

•         Supports local commercial technology and sales deployment activity and reporting innovation.

•         Defines and consults on measurement of sales force use of local and corporate tools via interviews, surveys, etc.  to determine needs of and improvement in commercial excellence product offerings.

•         Interfaces with Corporate Sales Compensation, Sales Reps, and Sales Management regarding sales budget process for baselines, district growth goals, and account and rep level performance.


•         Bachelors in a business-related field.

•         A minimum of 3 years in an analytical role.

•         Proficient in Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables and report creation) & Access (the ability to manipulate and analyze sales data).

•         Working familiarity with BI tools (including PowerBI and/or Tableau). The ability to work across all levels; there is frequent interaction with internal stakeholders to include Regional Vice Presidents, Executive Sales Directors, Sales Directors, Sales Representatives, and members of the Sales Compensation        Team.

•         Healthcare industry knowledge as well as familiarity with Commercial Operations is preferred.

•         Experience creating queries in Cognos to extract and analyze data within Excel and Access is a plus.

•         The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
